    Pease Golf Course
One of the older golf courses in New Hampshire, it used to be the Portsmouth Country Club.

Greens fees are $30 and a cart is $10 for 18 holes. Another $10 will get you a bucket of balls to practice on the driving range.
At the pro shop you can pick up extra balls and tees and talk to locals about the course. You can even get one-on-one instructions (for a fee).

The 9 hole executive course is more to our speed and budget. It costs only $25 for a cart and 9-holes. The fairways are wide open but bounded by trees and coarse bramble. The fairways and greens are bent grass and the roughs are wide and deep. Controlled short shots are much more productive than errant power strokes. This course is 3000 yards and has 3 holes with major water hazards. There are two elevated tees and one elevated green. It is a pretty course with few frustrations (as long as you don't shank it into the water) and is fun for even duffers like me.

Be sure to see the website for the telephone number to call for tee times.
