The best place to park in downtown Portsmouth is in its parking garage. The garage is quite inexpensive at $0.75 per hour. Parking on the street is allowed, but there is a 2-hour limit on it, and the meter maids are relentless about giving out parking tickets. Parking meters are in effect until 7 PM every night, so if you're parking on the street after that time you should be OK.

There are two large parking lots for 75 cents an hour. The street parking is basically the same time allotted, but then you have to watch the meter, and when you run out. Over by South Mill Pond, and at the high school location, street parking is free, but space may be hard to find. It really is not too far away form the sites at the south end to see, like Langdon house.

We all gotta go sometime! This is just a picture of a cemetery across near the water. Not a bad place to rest in peace.
