Newick's by ElaineCatherine Newick's is right off of Route 4 in Dover, New Hampshire. It's the perfect place to go to after a day at the beach. They served fresh boiled lobsters, great fried seafood and baked seafood too. They do have a kids menu with stuff like cheeseburgers and chicken fingers too. It's extremely casual. There are long bench seats that you may share with another family, but the view of the Great Bay is amazing and really worth it! The prices are reasonable as well.
Onion rings are my favorite food in the universe, and theirs are the best. Their portions are way to huge for even my entire family to eat. Leave a Comment Theme: SeafoodComparison: about averageAddress: 431 Dover Point RoadPhone: 603-742-3205

The Original Common Man by Pawtuxet Ashland is the home of the original Common Man restaurant but there are a number of them scattered throughout the territory. You feel as if you are in an old barn filled with memorabilia on the walls... friendly wait staff to make things seem homey. Good American food, homemade deserts. At the entrance you will find collections of old magazines on hunting or other collectible subjects...and the honor system is used for purchase of those. There was a St. Patrick's Day party on the 2nd floor when we were there, so we were treated to lots of Irish music. Leave a Comment

Specializing in a broad range of coffees...this little spot also has deli sandwiches and pastries. The day we were there (St. Patrick's Day) they offered a bit of Irish Cream in your coffee. It's friendly, warm and charming. Don't miss it. We're real coffee freaks, so these little places are absolutes when we travel. This is in Meredith. The Village Perk offers the usual extended list of coffee varieties...but there is a fireplace and comfortable sitting room (behind Christopher in this picture) where groups come to have small meetings, order wedding photos, buy from an independant dealer's catalogue....or just kick back in front of the friendly fire. This little diner is in Plymouth, which is only a minute or two from the Cold Spring Resort, where we stayed in Ashland. Classic diner with fun signs on the walls, stools at the counter for fast service...and a fabulous Reuben sandwich! Corned beef was lush. Give it a try if you are in the area....and many thanks to ElaineCatherine of VT for the tip! Leave a Comment

great pizza & brews are your reward by richiecdisc I was really looking forward to this place. We had done a great but tough hike and were just starved. We pulled up and saw this very fancy looking Inn and were nearly afraid to go in. We were still in our hiking gear and had not had a shower in two days. Quite simply, we looked a mess. After closer inspection, we noticed that while the upstairs dining area was indeed a bit formal, there was a pub area downstairs and this is where we headed. It was a boisterous place showing the Red Sox/Yankees playoff game and a great way to unwind from a great day of exploring nature. Another plus aside from the great service was free Internet so you can check your mail.
They have great brick oven pizzas and while you wait there is a huge barrel of peanuts that you can help yourself to as well. Very handy for starving hiker types. Though their house-brewed Autumn Ale was a bit over the top on the pumpkin pie spices, the Old Man Stout was nice example of the style and the Pemi Pale Ale was a surprising treat. It was a very big pale ale with a huge dose of malt that nicely balanced the citrusy hoppy palate. Needless to say, we came here more than once. Leave a Comment

by Pawtuxet Hart's has been around for a very long time. Their specialty is obviously...turkey. In all forms, and for very reasonable prices...this is a typical American family sort of restaurant. We were in the mood for simple turkey, gravy, and mashed potatoes that night. worked out fine. On our last trip through NH, returning from upstate NY, we stopped in Concord for one evening. Next to our Inn, was The Common Man, recommended to us a great eating spot. The restaurant is located in an old "barn-like" atmosphere with different levels and a very warm feeling. From the opening "help-yourself to the salads and cheeses" to the final desserts, this was a great eating experience - not only for just the food.
My wife had New England scrod and I had blackened Cajun catfish - both were excellent. The total cost with drinks and a tip was US$65. The downside is that this particular building is hanging under the axe for demolition to allow an expansion of the next-door Interstate highway.
