Parker-French west: more antiqueing along Antique Alley

by Pawtuxet

You could poke around in this string of antique shops for hours and hours.... finding everything imagineable. Old jewelry, furniture, post cards, clothing, signs, posts, pictures, badges, tools, bowls, flatware....what are you looking for? More info on Antique Alley in other tips. They advertise "no crafts or reproductions"Open year round 10 - 5 daily Whatever.... Think about what a well made table (or other) would cost if brand new....then remember the materials these old things are made out of. Is it a deal? usually...yes.

Flossie's General Store: Typical regional stuff

by german_eagle

It's a Country Store ambience; a typical small house in lovely setting with beautiful garden practically draws you in. They offer products of mostly local and regional artisans but also candy and books as well as postcards. They make great gifts for the poor family and friends that had to stay home. averages prices

A shoppers paradise

by Helga67

New Hampshire is a shoppers paradise as it is the only state in New England that does not impose a sales tax. There is a wide range of stores, malls, and factory outlets. If you are located near the White Mountains National Forest, go to North Conway. Here are several factory outlet stores.

Conway Outlet Malls: Is any deal worth the loss of tour time

by CraigT

Conway is shopping in New Hampshire. Yes, there are ski equipment retailers but the big summer draw is the outlet mall. You have to ask yourself if it is a good idea to spend anytime here when the beauty of the New England mountains is all around. Shop at home. New Hampshire is for wonder.

Common Man store

by Pawtuxet

The Common Man restaurant is on one side of the street in Ashland, and the country store that is named Common Man is on the other. It's like an old country store with homemade fudge, gifts, toys, household, all sorts of things to tickle your fancy. definately stop in.... you are sure to find something you like.

NH State Liquor Stores: Liquor, Spirits, Alcohol and more

by ariesm44

New Hampshire runs the Liquor Stores and sales in this state. I do believe you can not buy from other sources - except for beer. They don't sell beer at the state stores. No sales tax in NH!Prices used to be well below other nearby state prices, but lately, IMO, that has no longer been true. You can still find bargains, but you should know your prices BEFORE going there is know what a good price is.One example. A merlot wine that I get locally in CT for $9.99. Same price in NH store. I save the tax, but have to drive 100's miles - not worth the trip! They do run special prices so if you are looking for something, you might get a really good price.I have been mostly to the store in North Woodstock. Here is that store info:North Woodstock Plaza159 Main Street North Woodstock, NH 03262 Ph: (603) 745-8922Email: store47@liquor.state.nh.us Sun: Noon-5 p.m.Mon: 10 a.m.-6 p.m.Tue: 10 a.m.-6...

Outlet haven: The Mt. Washington Valley New Hampshire

by ariesm44

I picked sporting goods, but North Conway is a shopping mecca - NO SALES TAX!!Many famous outlet brands and smaller shops with sale prices - some of them worth the trip. Seasoned shoppers should know prices to know if these "deals" are really deals after all.The link below has lots of details for you.Warning: Traffic can be hassle depending on the time of year - like foliage time - think Christmas shopping, Uugh! Housewares, clothing, shoes, sportwear, sporting goods. Know you prices BEFORE you get there. Some things might not be such a bargain, but there is NO SALES TAX in NH.

Stickney Street: When The Non-Shopper Shops....

by deecat

For truly unique items for yourself or to purchase as gifts, Stickney Street has it. Stickney Street is located on the Patio Level of The Mount Washington Hotel. It's the home of several shops. One of our favorites is Cabot's Gift & Clothing Shop. It's an upscale shop that offers a wide array of clothing and novelties. I remember my non-shopping husband being interested in the merchandise of the shop. He purchased a hat and a belt for our daughter Jill, and he went so far as to ask me if there was anything that I wanted. I was floored. I took advantage, however, and pointed out a very cute resort-type dress. Will wonders ever cease to be? This store sells Resort logo items, sundries, and even fresh flowers as well as the lovely clothes.Another store I found interesting was White Mountain Arts & Literature which is located next to the Cabot's Gift & Clothing Shop. The great thing about...

Settlers Green Outlet Mall: Bargin Hunting!

by daffodil

Everyone that likes to shop should go to North Conway. There are tonnes of outlet stores there. A nice large outlet complex is the Settlers Green Outlet Mall. The town has a nice setting, but it is definately over run with shoppers, so beforewarned, and if possible go on a weekday during the day in fringe or off-tourist season. Anything because there is no sales tax! A big difference from most of Eastern Canada where it is 15% or more!. A lot, so keep it under control!

Market Street, Portsmouth: Market Street, Portsmouth

by diver-x

Not one particular shop, but a nice street to browse, stroll and grab a coffee or a beer. You'll find it all, from antiques, arts & crafts to computer accessories. There's no sales tax in NH, so take advantage!
