 | Atlantic City Local Customs | Tips 1 - 10 of 23 | | This is Bally's Casino on the boardwalk, very colorful and fun looking. Plenty of restaurants and gambling. Always go to the nearest employee and ask where to get your guest card, these cards are for tracking you gambling and help you get perks, so make sure you pick one up before you start feeding the machine! We saw some people with like ten or more cards on a keychain just for them. They either have to much money or time or both! Leave a Comment

The statue of King Neptune is the entrence to the Historic Gardner's Basin, a waterfront park and marina. This a wonderful area to explore, you can take tour boats, go to the aquarium and many other fun things in this part of town, very pretty and clean. Leave a Comment

Casino Waitresses – I tip them regardless of my luck. Drinks are free and these girls typically will keep coming back as long as you are kind to them. If I believe that I need better service I will tip two to three dollars up front and that guarantees that I will always have a drink in my hand. Change Clerks - If you are winning be nice share a little, after all they brought you the lucky coins. Casino Host and Hostess - These wonderful people are not allowed to accept money tips. But a nice little gift from your area or something at Christmas is graciously appreciated. Dealers - These are most appreciated. Several ways to tip a dealer. You may tip a dealer a side bet next to your bet or on top of your bet. Dealers usually enjoy being able to participate in the game. If you place his tip on top of yours and it wins you keep the original chip and he collects the winnings from his bet you have set aside. Or you may want to just hand him cash or chips when you leave the table. I usually tip every 30 minutes or so with a chip or a bet. This is entirely up to you.

Gambling and the Dealers – if I’m winning and the dealer is making my experience enjoyable I tip. If they are bothered with the thought of conversation I don’t. Some dealers will keep an eye on you and help you get as close to winning as possible. That I tip. Others, act as if they cannot ever suggest anything to the player. There, I do not tip. You can tip during the action or you can tip as you leave the table, that is entirely up to you. Poker Dealers – If you win a pot send a chip over to the dealer. They deal the cards and they have to put up with abuse from the players, A good dealer can split pots and keep the game going while a bad dealer can let things get out of control. Taxi –$2 is customary below fifteen dollars. Shuttle drivers - 50 cents to $1.00 for 1-4 in your party Bellmen - 2 dollars per bag up to about ten or twelve dollars. Room Service - 15-20% Restaurant Waiters - 15-20% Buffet - $1 per person is nice

If you are in this town you don't have much of a choice but to go in and check them out. These casinos line the boardwalk, all the hustle and bustle, the flashing lights, you want to find out what it's all about. GAMBLING, THAT'S WHAT!! These people are crazy for it, every one has these cards for all the casinos, all their gear and money and away they go. I like my money IN MY POCKET! I will only throw away so much and that's it. AC is a true mix of all types of people. In our school district there are 56 different languages spoken. Don't be supprised to meet someone you know here. People tend to be friendly, we are a public service oriented town after all, and will be more than happy to help with transportation or restaurant questions you might have. Leave a Comment

I come from a large, extended family and guests were always made welcome. So if you come here, expect to at least be invited to eat a meal. I'm a good cook in many different cuisines and a meal shared with friends is a good meal indeed. Please enjoy the photo of my Russian roommates "Breakfast of Champions". We don't always do it that way but sometimes stuff happens! Leave a Comment

They love signs in New Jersey. As soon as you cross into the state, it seems to me that there are a lot more traffic signs along the highway. This goes for Atlantic City roads and, of course, the Boardwalk. The signs I like the most are the ones they place each block giving the name of the street and some historic tidbit. They’re done up to look like monopoly cards which is quite appropriate as well. Leave a Comment
