Bring a sweater even in the summer, the ocean keeps us 10 degrees cooler than inland. Also, avoid dark clothing in the months of June and August. We have a biting fly called a Greenhead (can you guess why?) that really hurts when it bites.
Always bring sunscreen, and don't forget that the humidity here can be killer if you aren't used to it. Some of the newer venues in the city require you to be dressed nicely in order to enter, which means no jeans or sneakers, but you don't have to wear a suit to fit in.
We have many fine examples of architecture, not just casinos and many nature areas to get excellent pictures of. Our birding areas are second to none. Don't forget some really amazing sunrises and sunsets too!
There are campgrounds located a few miles outside the city if you wish to camp. We have many parks to visit. The beach in AC is free, unlike the surrounding citys, so bring the cooler, your towel and umbrella and enjoy.
There are lifeguards on our beaches until 5 pm. for your safety. Please don't swim alone here, the rip tides can be dangerous unless you know what to do. Leave a Comment

walking shoes if you plan to stroll along the boardwalk,carry extra clothing if you plan to walk at night on boardwalk because it can be breezy

A small carry bag or roller board is all you really need unless you plan on spending weeks on end here. We usually spend a night or two and everything we take will fit in a small rollerboard.
Depending on the season, but during the summer you can enjoy casual wear like summer dresses, shorts, skirts and tank tops for women and men usually wear jeans, khakis or shorts. Flips or low heeled sandals for walking on the boardwalk. Evening definitely wear something dressy, nice dresses or jeans with a pretty dressy top and heels for women, slacks or dressy jeans and dress shirts for men.
I always carry my own toiletries like shampoo, conditioner, bath wash, bath cloth, toothpaste, body and moisturizer, contact lens solution, contact lenses, glasses, perfume, deodarant and a few other items.

stuff an unused bag into your carry on so you can bring home souvenirs
plastic bags for bathing suits if still wet when you have to leave so they dont damped your other clothes
Good walking shoes/sneakers

Flip Flops (dressy & non dressy )
Windbreaker (the boardwalk gets breezy, even in the summer)
Light sweater
Dress down clothes for casual areas like buffet's, boardwalk, gambling
Dressy clothes for dressy areas like clubs, restaurants, shows, and if you like to gamble in style

Bra's
Socks ( you dont want to walk around on the hotel room carpet ... yuck )
Sweatpants ( the hotel rooms are cold , the AC is always pumpin )
Q-Tips ( not every hotel carries these )
Imodium ( Or any other stomach relief meds you have .. you get used to the kind you use , never leave home with out them )
1 oz bottles of your favorite shampoo, conditioner, body wash, etc ( Unless your driving you can bring the full sized ones )
