We have a amature hockey team playing at Boardwalk Hall that are the current Kelly Cup Champs and you can watch a ballgame cheaply in our baseball stadium. Both are low cost entertainment. Leave a Comment Theme: Other

Steel Pier by penumbra With all of the casinos in Atlantic City, it’s easy to forget that the city became an attraction because of its beaches. The beach is closed from 10pm until 10am. There is no picnicking or alcoholic beverages, no dogs, no ball or Frisbee throwing, no skateboards (?) no open fires and no loud music allowed. I think it’s alright if you lie quietly in the sun, but check before hand.
There are change rooms and washrooms available at intervals along the Boardwalk. There is usually a shower at the base of the steps top the Boardwalk to wash off sand. Chairs, lounges, umbrellas and cabañas are available for rent but there is a limited supply which is used up quickly during the weekend. Refreshments are available at the Beach Bars or along the Boardwalk itself. Leave a Comment Theme: Beach Activities

On Patrol by penumbra Cycling is allowed along the Boardwalk, but only between 6am and 10am. I believe that bicycles are intended to stay in the middle of the Boardwalk, between the yellow lines where the rolling chairs normally operate.
Signs along the Boardwalk: (1) “Bike riders please be courteous. Please ride carefully, watch for pedestrians.” (2) “Pedestrians keep to the right. Please watch your children during bicycling hours.” Leave a Comment Theme: Biking

My dad, my sister and me by grandmaR My grandfather took us all to Atlantic City one Easter when I was in grade school or junior high. This would have been in the early 50s or late 40s. We rented tandem bikes to cycle on the boardwalk in the morning. Bike riding is still apparently allowed between 6:30 am and 10am daily.
Bicycle rentals are available from B&K Bicycle Rentals, Inc., with locations at: * North Carolina and the Boardwalk at the base of the Boardwalk ramp (near Resorts Atlantic City.) * Iowa Ave. and the Boardwalk (near Tropicana Casino and Resort) Adult and children bikes, baby seats, tandem and safety helmets are available for rent. ID and/or deposit required. Leave a Comment Theme: BikingPhone: (609) 344-8008

Smooth by penumbra Although skate boarding is frowned upon, rollerblading seems to be acceptable along the Boardwalk. I’m not convinced that this is a good idea though. These two made quite a lot of noise skating along the Boardwalk because the wooden boards are uneven and have small gaps between them. It couldn’t have been a very pleasant ride.
