There are several beaches in the area that one can view.
In the summer bars are setup and one of them Sammy's has a small dance floor. The music is so loud you can be anywhere on the beach and dance.
The other beach bar is Trumps which is for the more reserved crowd.
Bartram Ave : My favorite atlantic city beach. It is about 2 block from ventnor , but still considered Atlantic City . Which mean - Beautiful Free Beach . Its a place for the locals to get a tan and avoid the tourist traps of the casino beaches, and other beaches that you have to purchase beach tags for . I love free beaches and this one if my fav ! They just renovated the boardwalk by this beach , brand new bathrooms (his and hers) and a nice wooden ramp that extends onto the beach. Next time I am there I will take pictures. It is a nice place to relax and after you're done tanning and having fun in the sun , you can wash off with the outside showers ! Also parking on Bartram ave. is free! no meters or anything. The closer you get the parking turns into 3hr parking but go a lil further west n bartram ave and its free all day !
If you're not into gambling (or not into watching someone else gamble), spending time at the beach is an option. In the Summer time, beach gets crowdy with tourists as it is a popular option for those who came with their family and kids. During the non-Summer season, the beach is empty and not used for anything other than people walking around the boardwalk.
Nothing like starting a day with watching a sunrise. In September, the sun came up around 6am. In Atlantic City, there are no specific places you need to go. Most of the beach areas will be perfect to experience the sunrise.
The beach is a nice pace to relax and read a book, or enjoy the water before your night of gambling away at the casinos. You have access to all kinds of food and snacks, but I would bring a few snacks with me in a cooler so you don't have to hike back up to the boardwalk.
We spent the day reading, talking, laughing and enjoying the warm sun and cool waters. Watch out for that sun, it gets hot even when its cloudy. Remember to bring your sunscreen and camera to commemorate the day.
Remember to bring your chair and umbrella, if you can. Chair rentals are $5.00 a day and umbrella rentals are $10.00 a day.
Lucy the Elephant in Margate, NJ is a postcard picture waiting to happen. You have to see it to believe it. It is a a 65 foot tall wooden elephant along the beach...conveniently next to The Greenhouse for an 'after the elephant' drink.
The beaches in atlantic city .. are .. get ready for it .. ya ready .. FREE .. thats right , they are free , no breach badges , just your self , and some tanning oil !! all free baby !!
Taking a stroll along the beach and enjoying the sea breeze may be one of the favourite pass time in Atlantic City =)
