    Pier from a hotel

We went to Atlantic City several times, but I don't remember whether we visited the Steel Pier or not. I've seen the movie about the diving horse (Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken), and my father took some photos of it and surrounding areas but I just don't remember whether we went or not. My first thought when I saw his photos was - " Is that thing still there? But it evidently is.

Or rather it is there AGAIN

Steel Pier originally opened in 1898 and from the 1920's through the 50s everyone who was anyone played Steel Pier. For one admission price, patrons could enjoy every concert, film and attraction without ever spending another cent. But it closed in 1976 and burned in the 1980s. My dad's photos are of the OLD Steel Pier.

It has now been rebuilt by Donald Trump's Taj Mahal. It is no longer a single ticket for admission.

    Landmark Steel Pier Amusements

The original pier opened in 1898, entertainment has always drawn the top names here and really got big from the 1920's up to the 1950's. In 1925 the circus came to town with George Hamid how was wish the Buffalo Bill Show, started the outdoor circus shop with the human cannonball and the diving horse. I remember seeing the diving horse when I was young and having a lot of fun here at the Steel Pier. They have all kinds of games, rides, bumper cars, bumper boats, grand prix go-karts and much more, even go-karts for the kids.
