The shoreline of Sandy Hook New Jersey

Sandy Hook is a beach peninsula which is 1665 acre large. It's created by sediment which is moved by the longshore current.

On the Sandy hook you can find beaches, dunes, salt marsh and a forest which is inhabited with shorebirds.

But it also has a lighthouse and a historic fort Hancock.

You can get here if you take state road 36 from exit 117 of the Parkway in the direction of the Highlands community then just follow the signs.

Ocean Boulevard is a meandering road that goes from Atlantic Highlands to Highlands. It reminds me of Carmel, CA. It is heavily wooded with cottages and homes dotted throughout the area and glorious views of the ocean.
