Sunday nights from 5-7 is happy hour at The Ketch. Their signature secret ingredients drink is the "bushwacker". It's frozen and yummy like a mudslide with 10x the 'kick'. It gets really crowded but I don't mind the crowds when I'm there with my girls. Be warned- the bushwackers go down easy but they hit really hard. Be sure to pace yourself!!
other nights the Ketch has live music. Mostly, the scene at the ketch is sunday nights for happy hour. they have a restaraunt too but I haven't been there.
Dress Code: Casual... right off the beach is fine although they might require shoes and a shirt.
I'm not sure if the restaraunt is more upscale attire. I haven't eaten there. Only been there for Bushwackers on Sunday nights and the occasional other nights to see bands.

once you're in Beach Haven or on LBI in general, there is a real lack of public transportation. If you're staying in Beach Haven you can pretty much bike or walk whereever you'd like to go. If you're staying in one of the quieter towns you will have to drive if you want to go to Fantasy Island or the water park or Bay Village. Some of the bars have a shuttle bus but they're not too reliable.
You can bring your own bike or rent one.

The one downside to LBI in general is that there can be these evil biting flies on the beach. they are huge and their bites KILL! they aren't always around, and there are less the closer you are to the water. So make sure that you pack bug spray to keep them away.

Favorite thing: I love to put my chair down by the water. Sit there with the waves crashing at my feet and the sun beating down. Pure Heaven!
Fondest memory: I usually go with my girlfriends and that's my favorite thing. We rarely see each other these days so our week 'down the shore' is when we catch up!
