  • Take a walk

Stroll across the Raritan River on a 1870 truss bridge, check out the picturesque falls that span the river and the lovely red mill. Clinton is a very walkable community. Park the car and stroll around. Another great way to see the area is by canoe. Canoes can be rented from the Clinton Canoe Company located at 44 Main Street. The Raritan River is...

Clinton Restaurants

  • Local place with large menu

Visited here on Holloween night on a whim. I was very impressed with the very large menu, steaks, pasta, fish, sandwiches and a generous selection of daily specials. Nice beer selection as well. The bar was noisy but they have dining rooms off to the side that are much quieter.

  • Huge Menu & Excellent Food

Building structure is not your typical diner. The building was recently renovated and they kept the attached railroad dining car. Model trains run on tracks hung from the ceiling and there are many aquariums in the main dining room.Menu is huge with many daily specials. Yuengling's Lager is available on tap.Open 24 hours. Clinton Warnings and Dangers

  • by rockycomfort Updated Apr 8, 2009

The main NJ corridor here is I-78; the Pa-to NJ traffic patterns = Eastbound congestion +/- 7-9am & Westbound +/- 4-6 pm; esp. bad on Fridays...Unfortunately there isn't a viable east-west alternate route...plan accordingly

Clinton Off The Beaten Path

  • Take a walk along the South Branch

The South Branch Reservation is a linear park along the South Branch of the Raritan River. The sections offer easy hiking for as long as you are willing to walk. Some sections can be wet in the Spring/Fall so Summer and Winter are my favorite times to visit.

  • Bike or hike the Landsdown trail

Between the Clinton Agway and Fox Lumber is Clinton's narrowest park. The Landsdown rail trail goes about 2 miles along the South Branch of the Raritan River where it ends at the Junction with Conrail (Lehigh Valley line). The path has distance markers every quarter mile and is very quiet once you go under I-78.
