don't forget the sunscreen!

Have fun! We all need it, love it and want it. So go ahead let go and have some fun on the beach. Don't worry about a bit if sand in your hair, just do it!
Don't forget the Zinc, even protection can be fun!
Glorious Zinc face painting compliments of my lovely sista Jody.

Harvey Cedars Shellfish

There is a reason the line winds threw the parking lot! The food, fun and atmosphere! This is a treasure. Part of the fun is visiting with everyone in line. The wait somehow never seems long.
Shellfish, fresh, steaming and delicious. Seating on the patio is preferred. Gather your group at a picnic table, the staff will chill your wine. Prepare to laugh socialize and enjoy.
These elegant dinners are served on disposable ware, Please feel free to lick your fingers.

Favorite Dish: Start off w/ the Mussels in garlic and wine, dip your crusty bread in the fragrant juices!
Follow that up with Lobster and corn on the cob you won't be able to finish.

Kubels: Local Flavor at Barnegat Light

My extended family @ Kubels

I grew up here. This is where the fisherman go. Back in the day we used to push the tables back and dance.
Now it is a touch more upscale. The food is good, very good if you order the fish, the freshest available.
They have a nice dark bar. This is where the locals will be. But don't bother looking to hard for them on weekends. They come in after they bring the catch back to the dock.

Favorite Dish: Anything fresh from the dock.

Barnegat Lighthouse

Barnegat Light named for the lighthouse standing at the inlet. Regular tours are still ongoing. The recently (2003) just refurbished the lighthouse. There is a fantastic park there with long, wide open beaches. No commercial endevours or boardwalks. Au Natural, so please whatever you take with you take away with you again.

These gorgeous fish were caught off Long Beach Island. You can take a private boat out on the bay or thru the inlet at Barnegat Light for Deep Sea fishing. You are also able to go on one of the Head boats located in Barnegat light.

Surf Fishing

One of the best activities for all ages is fishing. Here you are able to surf fish while a short distance away the rest of the family may swim.
