Alba Vineyard was actually a full days trip for us, as we chose to ride north along the Delaware River, enjoying the ride. When you arrive at the winery, the tasting room is in a converted dairy barn, it feels rustic and presents the perfect atmosphere for a wine tasting. Alba charges $5 a person for a tasting of six different wines. You get to keep the glasses, which is cool cause they got the vineyards named etched on it.

Gordie has never been a wine person, but he actually really liked some of the wines. I went through two tastings (12 different wines) before I had to try and make a decision about what wines to buy. (see my shopping tips for wine info) We loaded three cases of wine into the back of Nigel.

    Hours:
    Sunday through Friday: 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.
    Saturday: 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.

***HUGE TIP - do not use Mapquest for directions, you will not get there!

Former pastry chef at Le Cirque opened this bakery and sells organic whole-grains rolls and breads to the public. Often found in restaurants and health food shops but here, it's fresh. Bread. Just good bread.

  • Vintage Port

The Vintage Port is a rich red with hints of black cherry, vanilla and mocha. It is said to develop a dark cherry jam quality with chocolate overtones when it ages...but I don't see this one lasting in my house! To describe this wine in one word...WOW. It is sweet but doesn't cling to the palate and is just so tasty. MEDAL WINNING WINESILVER -...
