The best remembrance I have of Neptune City is the drives down by the mansions and taking the family to Bradley Beach.

wikiedia info:
5500 residents in this small town. There are 2500 residences, about half of which are family dwellings. Household income annually has a healthy average of $45000.

If you make it to the Jersey Shore and you like bands like Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Bon Jovi or Southside Johnny...you can't miss out on Asbury Park. It was once the crown Jewel of the Jersey Shore, but race riots ripped it apart and it still hasn't recovered. Don't miss the Stone Pony, Convention Hall and the boardwalk by Convention Hall...it should look familiar. It was featured in The Soprano's, Dogma and the DeNiro film "City By The Sea."

Vic's Italian Restaurant: Vic's Pizza

Back in the 60', this was the place to get your pizzas. They had that sweet sauce and thin crispy crust with plenty of cheese. You definitely needed a napkin when you ate a slice.

I am glad to see that the restaurant has passed down to family members and is still open for business. Now, they don't have just the best pizza in Jersey but serve a menu of fine Italian foods.

It is an old fashioned Italian restaurant serving you in 5 or 6 little partial meals like my grandmother used to. You start with a glass of wine and an antipasto, a little fried calamari then you get into the salads followed by escarole soup. Now your appetite has been whet and you are ready for the meal: ravioli, lasagna or penne with a nice wine-added sauce or possibly a chicken parmigiana. End up with a cup of coffee and a dish of spumone and you are satiated. (your wallet is a lot lighter but you gained a few pounds).

The decor is comfortable dress for dinner. The staff are friendly and quick to serve.

The big names in this plaza are:
Ann Taylor, Gap, Coach, Starbucks, Victoria Secret, Banana Republic, Bath and Body Works

The plaza itself is along the lines of the old U-shaped pattern with central parking lot and store to store access is via an outdoor walkway.

My wife, The Shopper (caps intended), only spent about an hour here and wasn't greatly impressed by the selection or sales. She did find a cute kids teeshirt in Gap's for reasonable price and then we left.

have a safe trip

Neptune City ranks in the top 10% of safe places to visit in New Jersey.
They only have 2 sex offenders registered for the area.

There is little to worry about when you visit the region but you should always remember to practice the travelers safety procedures. Be as diligient as you would be in your own home town. Have fun on vacation but be safe by being smart.
