Take a walk on the beach and...
Favorite thing: Take a walk on the beach and boardwalk. Start at 5th St. on the Boardwalk. Walk to 15th St. and back along the beach. If its before 11 am in the summer you can take a bike ride from one end of the boardwalk, around 1st St. to the end, around 21st St. In the off season you can ride a bike on the boardwalk at any time but the bike rentals usually aren't open during the off season.
Fondest memory: Surfing and Fishing

A Long Line of Shore Goers
Fondest memory: My family has been going to the shore for generations. Here is my Great Aunt Ellie at Atlantic City in the late 20's, before it became an undesirable beach. Can you imagine wearing this outfit in the water? And that's as good as it got for woman watchers!

Visit in September or October...
Favorite thing: Visit in September or October when the crowds have gone home and the weather is ideal.
Fondest memory: The sunsets are so beautiful in the fall and the surfing and fishing are at thier best!
This is a picture from 14th st facing south.
Go fishing or Whale & Dolphin...
Favorite thing: Go fishing or Whale & Dolphin watching. The North Star sails daily during the summer and by demand in the off season.
Fondest memory: This year we spotted many large whales and lots of dolphin just off the beach while fishing.
Take a walk on the beach in...
Favorite thing: Take a walk on the beach in the morning and collect shells.
Fondest memory: When I lived in CT our family visited Ocean City every summer. As a kid I would be on the beach from early morning to almost dark. I never wanted to leave. Not much has changed now.
Just relax! That's what Ocean City is about
Favorite thing: Just relax! That's what Ocean City is all about. Also, for the beaches adjacent to the Boardwalk you have to have a beach tag to go on the beach from 8 am to 6pm. It's only a few dollars. If you don't want to buy a beach tag you have to drive all the way down to the 59th street beach.

Go to the beach, if you head...
Favorite thing: Go to the beach, if you head to the very sounth end of the island, past the old fishing pier, you don't need beach tags and most of the rules aren't enforced.
In summer the water and air are warm and it is a great place to spend the day.
Fondest memory: September, when the police force is cut by 60% and you no longer need a beach tag or have to pay to park.
Ocean City is a DRY town!
Favorite thing: For better or worse, there are no liqour/beer stores in OC...so...If you want some alcoholic refreshments, stop @ Circle Liqours on the Rt. 9 Circle before tooling into OC. You won't be disappointed. Opened in 1938, they have it all...HUGE selection & great prices. Legions of Pennsylvanians stop here to stock up their home bars (don't let the tax man know!) b/c of the over-priced, under-stocked, only-game-in-town "State Stores" in PA. The beaches in OC are no-booze also, so be safe, friendly, & creative.

Favorite thing: Ocean City is just an 8 mile drive (and a 20 minute driving time) down south from the heart of Atlantic City via US 152 into the Historic Cape May County and if you don't have time to go to Cape May of New Jersey and Ocean City in Maryland (and ride a hour long ferry in between and is a popular destination in the east coast for spring break and summer for it's beaches and romantic getaways) due to time constraints, then Ocean City here in New Jerset would suffice since Ocean City New Jersey is the premier family getaway destination in New Jersey and although the boardwalk here is a lot smaller than in atlantic city, It is packed with lots of whole families from the grandparents to the parents and the children and there are lots of family friendly activities like the amusemet park and lots of things to do at the shops and restos and stores in the Boardwalk.

Liquor and WaWa
Favorite thing: Ocean City is a dry town, which means there is no alcohol sold within the city limits. Simply go to the Liquor Barn right over the 43rd St. Bridge. The place is huge, and if you can’t find it there then remember to bring it with you next time. Make sure to have your ID – they will check.
Wawa is THE convenience store of the tri-state area. It’s the best. It’s also always always jammed, especially on Saturday mornings up til about noon when everyone is arriving into town. They have free ATM’s, and most people are getting drinks and sandwiches. Just order, take your ticket, and wait. I always get the footlong meatball sub.

Favorite thing: Enjoy the rides! The boardwalk has a few piers that have rides for the little ones, there's also a couple half-decent rides for adults and a small waterpark. Pier shown here is Gillian's Wonderland.
