    Finding a place to park isn't hard, plenty of that, even on crowded weekends there is some lot space left. Finding FREE parking is another matter. Parking in the rental-residential areas can be found, but not so much so near the center of town and the boardwalk. So most people bring their bikes. OC is a LONG city and walking to a destination can take a while. Biking around is very popular. You can ride right up to the boardwalk and LOCK your bike to a ramp railing. Biking on the boardwalk is only allowed in the a.m.

    Rollerblading from point to point is becoming more and more popular each year. Road conditions aren't the greatest for it though...

    Go by boat. Come in through Great Egg inlet. Call ahead for docking availability. I'll list locations soon.
    You can circle the island of Ocean City by boat but Corsen's Inlet on the south side of the Island is not marked and can be tricky especially at low tide.

    • Car is the best way to get to Ocean City, although there is limited public transport from Atlantic City. Train from Philadelphia arrives at Atlantic City and then its a Bus ride from there.
    Best way to get round the City is Car, if you dont have one try renting a bicycle and using that to explore the City. No bikes on the boardwark after 12 noon.

    Normally these waterways are navigated by boat. This winter was so cold that I got to try out my new GNSK8 snowtires for skateboards.

    The Ocean City Convention Center always has activities going on-- craft shows, flower shows, pagents, etc. Find out what is going on and check it out. The center is located on the Boardwalk. Craft shows are scheduled most Fridays and Saturdays.

    (This week they are having the Miss New Jersey Pageant there.)

    This is a no-brainer right? Going to the beach is a must-do activity. There's something there for everyone: sand, waves, people-watching, snoozing, beach combing, and more and more!

    Most major beaches charge you to set foot upon their sand. Wildwood is the only big free beach around here. Tags are sold at most entrances from boardwalk to beach. If you go early enough and miss the tag sellers, don't worry, they spend all day, walking up and down the beach, searching for tagless tourists. As a teen, it was a rite of passage requirement to not pay and spend the day avoiding the roving beach patrols.

    The beach and the boardwalk go hand-in-hand. Unlike some seashore towns that also advertise boardwalks, Ocean City and Wildwood's boardwalks are really made of boards, not concrete slabs.
    Most people go to the beach during the day and stroll along the boardwalk during the evening. All along the boardwalk you will find a gazillion souvenir, beach, and sundry shops. Also, there are rides, arcades, games of chance, (chances are you'll lose) and food of all kinds. Guess what I just read in the news today? (12-14-02) Ocean City is making a no smoking law on the boardwalk! There will be some designated smoking areas. Apparently, the last boardwalk fire was caused by a discarded, yet still lit, cigarette butt.
