Ike's Famous Crabcakes: One crabby patty, coming right up!

by asturnut Updated Nov 9, 2007

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

    Ike's on the Boardwalk

Apart from being really famous nationally for having outstanding crabcakes and seafood, the atmosphere is fun and playful. The menu is really reasonably priced and quality is not sacrificed. Ike's has been so successful they have several locations in addition to mail order crabcakes.

Favorite Dish: That would be the crabcakes, duh, which although they are not lump, are incredible! Try them with the mild but zingy horshradish sauce.

A sampling of other menu items include:
    Fried softshell crab for $9.95
    Grilled cajun jumbo shrimp $9.95
    Grilled Yellowfin tuna wrap $6.95
    Crunchy fried grouper $6.95
Grilled tuna or swordfish steak $7.95
Famous local Port Norris fried oysters $6.95

    Tons more...

Katina's Gyro Restaurant: Dionysus would be proud

by OCNJBritt Written Apr 1, 2003

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Katina's is a very small casual restaurant offering a variety of Greek dishes at extremely reasonable prices.

Favorite Dish: Go for the hummus appetizer, the lemon soup, the souvlaki entree, and some spinach pie.
I'm hungry just thinking about it.

The Chatterbox: An Ocean City "institution"

by asturnut Updated Apr 4, 2011

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

    The Chatterbox

The Chatterbox has been in Ocean City for over 65 years- it's a family restaurant that is an "instution". It's typical American fare-- nothing exciting, but reliably good, inexpensive and family friendly. The restaurant has that retro-50's guache pink and neon vibe. What makes it really interesting are all the retro pictures from the 20's 30's and 40's from around Ocean City.

Favorite Dish: Famous for their burgers and ice-cream.

    just waitin'...

There's a wait on most days for a table. But it doesn't take long. Service is quick. You can get a good, hearty breakfast and start your day off well-fortified. Of course, if you plan on hitting the beach in a bikini, you may just opt for juice and a bagel!

Bubba Mac Shack: Atmosphere, good grub, and entertainment

by Rhondaj Updated Jul 14, 2003

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

    Stay to hear the music!

    Offers seafood and ribs, burgers.
Keep in mind that Ocean City is dry. (no alcohol sold) So if you want to imbibe, ride over a bridge and a host of restaurants are there to indulge you. At Bubba's you can eat inside, (never have) or on the deck. It's fun to watch the boats come and go in the adjoining marina from your table on the deck. You can also eat by the stage area. That's a good place to request a table if you plan on hanging around to watch the band. Guest bands, or Bubba's. Music I've heard includes, jazz, blues, and country rock.

    Two Mile Landing: Family Favorite

by Rhondaj Updated Jul 14, 2003

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Two Mile Landing is a marina on the bay with two restuarants. One fancy, one not. We go to the not fancy side! The Two Mile Inn. The other one, I can't remember the name, but it has Lobster in it somewhere ! (the name)
We like to sit on the deck and make a big mess eating crabs, oysters and clams. Boats come and go, and the sun sets beautifully over the bay. You can also sit inside and STILL have a great view. (like this picture here) Sometimes it's too hot for the deck even on the bay! Service is right on, the staff is friendly and the seafood of good flavor and abundance! We always try new places, but keep on coming back here.

Favorite Dish: If you go parasailing, this marina is the starting point.

  • Ike's Seafood, Ocean City: Don't waste your money at Ikes!

by DeniseThies Written Aug 9, 2006

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Spent $140. on Ikes greasiest - no tasting crabcakes in the world - we got take out and they even burned a hole in the styrophone. I could not believe I wasted $18. on two flat no tasting crabcakes I thought we were at the shore theres lots of competition - and you lost big time by going to Ike's. And the fries they called famous were potatoe chips that were not appetizing at all. I feel robbed!

    Favorite Dish: NONE!

Mack & Manco's is an ocean city gem. I have been going there since I was a little girl. We would always stop and get their pizza, even if we had to walk the whole boardwalk, because nothing else would satisfy us the way Mack & Manco's would! Awesome pizza.

    Sack O' Subs: Subs

    by April1985 Written Mar 11, 2008

    2 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Sack O' Subs is a great place to get subs. Don't ask for a "hoagie" Its a sub. Anyways, they have a wicked awesome cheesesteak w lettuce tomatoes and fried onions, but no one does tuna like they do. Ask for it dry with oil and you will be extremely happy. Or have a regular tuna which is creamy and oh so delicious!

Litterer's: The BEST Pizza at the Jersey Shore

by asturnut Updated Mar 27, 2006

    1.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

    Litterers Pizza

It's real casual- overlooking the ocean. You can go in in your bathing suit and flipflops.

Favorite Dish: After being closed for 2 years after a fire, Litterers is BACK!

Their pizza is the best pizza in south Jersey- I swear! The slices are humoungous and greasy and real flappy-- the traditional South Philly kind that is hard to find now-adays. Some people don't like this kind of pizza- but to me it is perfection!!! In Ocean City most people get hung-up on Mack & Manco pizza, but Litter's pizza is way better. Since the renovations, Litterer's has a nice seating area and an expanded menu. Give it a shot!
