    Shops on the Boardwalk

    by April1985 Written Mar 11, 2008

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

If you are a tourist, your going to want to buy souvenirs for your family and friends. However here in OC, there are some really silly stores that sell suntan lotion, beach balls, rafts, swim suits, etc. If you really need suntan lotion or tanning oil, just head into somers point to an eckard or something. On the boardwalk these things are very expensive, and silly to buy. Bring your swim suits, and beach toys with you so you wont leave with an unnecessary hole in your wallet.

    Dry Town

    by April1985 Written Mar 11, 2008

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

OC is a dry town, which means if you want to drink, you need to leave. If you are staying there, your obviously going to come back sometime with alcohol in your system. Don't drive drunk and if you are going to drink, have a designated driver. Cops pull people over randomly late at night to see if your drunk. Be cautious and be safe.

    Ocean City Bridge

    by April1985 Written Mar 11, 2008

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Once you get over Ocean City bridge (right after the Somers Point Circle) the speed limit is 40 MPH. There are always cops there, and they love giving tickets. Especially in the summer months when they know the tourists are down. Be cautious and dont speed. You will be able to go home with out any violations.

Unique Suggestions: Do the speed limit!

    Renting a surrey

by Rhondaj Written Feb 1, 2003

Looks like fun doesn't it? But beware! These things are hard to steer and take a lot of leg power! And the pedaling up the ramp to get onto the boardwalk-torturous!

Unique Suggestions: Have a pedal partner, someone stronger than you, and let them do most of the work!

Fun Alternatives: Rent bikes with child-seats instead!

    The main bridge coming into...

    by SURFIN7TH Written Sep 12, 2002

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

The main bridge coming into town from the Somers Point Circle is always patrolled for speeding. The speed limit is 40 mph and there is very little tollerence if you speed. The police are almost always there. If you speed, you will most likely get a ticket on that bridge. The police also know that there are no bars in Ocean City so everyone who leaves to party will eventually come back over one of the bridges. Take a cab!

You're sure to spend lots of money...

Well, all of Ocean City is sort of a 'tourist trap'. It's a town that thrives on the tourism industry, so there is a lot of kitschy merchandise for sale, cheesy t-shirts, fake tatoos, etc for sale in Ocean City. Everything is pretty expensive in Ocean City- the rides, food, groceries, accomodations, souveniers, etc. I suggest you resist the temptation to buy junk that is 'made in china' and spend your money on something else!
