Luggage Storage at Newark Int. Airport

by feline01

Need luggage stored while at Newark Airport? NBS Storage and Delivery seems to be the only option. I just rang them and verified their prices and arrangement. They have a stand next to Carousel 1 in Terminal C at Newark. They charge $10 the first day and $5 each additional day plus $10 for the first bag and $5 for each additional bag so if you have 2 bags for 10 days, the charge would be $105. They give you a ticket when you leave the bags with them then you ring them when you want to pick the bags up or make arrangements when you drop off for a pick up time at Terminal C.

A couple of good maps to have in your car for a trip to Jersey are the American Maps paper map which has good illustrations for the major highways and the Streetwise Map for NY/NJ which has great street maps of major cities in the NYC and New Jersey area.

Garmin GPS

Having our own GPS unit during our travels made our lives easier esp when we travelled from one state to the other. the easiest route, nearest hospital, attractions, restaurants, grocery, gas station etc are all provided here through one touch to the screen :-) Although updates are needed esp for new locations of restaurants, shops and even the roads still it was very useful and helpful during our trip. Car rental company do provide GPS unit for an additional charge so, it is better to get one on your own esp for future travels.

Whatever you need you can find it here.

What you need depends on whether your hiking or going to the shore or just doing some shopping. It also depends on what season you visit us in! Hot in summer, rainy in spring, pleasant in autumn( though chilly at night), and COLD in winter. Plan accordingly. :) New Jersey is known for it's numerous malls, so if you plan on doing a lot of shopping, you might not want to pack much at all! You can find anything you need here, so don't worry if you've forgotten anything at home! Once again it all depends...bring at least a little point and shoot, you never know what might pop up

Do not bring a lot of luggage unless you want it stolen. Do not leave luggage in car. New Jersey is the land of shopping malls. No sales tax on clothing. Buy anything you need here. There is a Walgreen's and/or CVS every other block and most are open 24hours.

Everybody packs different. The best is a duffle bag with maybe a canvas carry bag that you don't mind getting sand on. Clothing - Shorts, t-shirts, sneakers, sandals, socks, bathing suits and jeans. Bring a lightweight jacket or sweater for the cool nights. It gets colder near the water at night. Bring towels, Wash rags, Sun Block lotion (LOTS OF IT!) Almost always someone ends up with sunburn so bring whatever you find soothing to you. Asprin and whatever meds you take on a regular basis. Also have handy a list of medicines you take and a list you're allergic to and carry it in your wallet or your purse. This helps if (god forbid!) there is an emergency. If you are coming for a long term vacation as in the whole summer bring extra batteries and extra film just in case. For your camera and other equipment bring a small waterproof bag that zips tight to keep sand and water off...

Pack a little brother if you're heading 'down the shore.' They're great for having a Frisbee catch!

The #1 thing to bring is your bathing suit. Also bring your flip flops for the beach.
