Main Street in Allentown by nicolettart This is a great little place in Allentown which makes wood-fire oven pizza. I had the Capricciosa, which was topped with artichokes, prosciutto, mushrooms, and olives. Pretty good! The fried calamari ain't bad either. It's my second visit here with a group of us, and no one has had a bad dish!
I recommend the stuffed rigatoni with sundried tomatoes! Leave a Comment Theme: ItalianPrice: US$11-20 » Currency ConverterComparison: less expensive than averageAddress: 11 Church Street, Allentown, New JerseyPhone: (609) 208-0640Directions: just off Main St.

You know, good pizza here in the shore area is very hard to come by. Having lived in Northern New Jersey all my life, I have high standards when it comes to pizza!! This place makes a good pie, and the garlic knots are the absolute best that I have ever tasted. They are covered in a ton of garlic--no need to ask for extra garlic! They have great rolls, too. I usually get the spinach roll which is packed with leaf spinach, cheese, and...garlic!

Come for the giant reuben: the corned beef is piled high and falling out of the sandwich. You may want to split it with someone, although I have eaten a whole one by myself. You can sit at the bar or at one of the small tables surrounding the bar. If you're at the shore, don't miss this place! This is kind of like a TGIFridays atmosphere, only it's a seafood restaurant. What I like about it is that it has great views of the New York city skyline. You don't need a table by the window..this restaurant sits on the waterfront, overlooking the Hudson River. I had the Caesar's salad with grilled shrimp and it was great.
Do not miss the crab stuffed mushrooms! Leave a Comment Theme: SeafoodPrice: US$11-20 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: 541 River Road, Edgewater, NJPhone: (201)840-9311Directions: near George Washington Bridge, and also accessible from the Weehawken area

The Boat by nicolettart You have a variety of choices here: you can sit at the hibachi for grilled food, or at the sushi bar or tables. If you prefer, they even have a tatami room, so you can sit on the floor. Very authentic atmosphere, considering it's a renovated Burger King! The menu has all your typical Japanese food, including a large assortment of sushi, tempura, and teriyaki. I recently went for lunch with friends and shared the yellowtail roll, spicy tuna roll, greendragon roll, and red dragon roll. The spicy tuna was excellent: it's ground tuna blended with a special hot sauce...delicious!
Try the Green Dragon Roll, if you like eel. It has spicy eel inside and topped with avocado on the outside. Leave a Comment Theme: Japanese/SushiPrice: US$11-20 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: Rt 37 EastDirections: Exit 82 off the Garden State Pkwy.

Ferry Street in Newark is known for its Portuguese culture. Here you will find shops, bakeries, and Portuguese restaurants. I hesitate to name just one--I think you should just go and try one! Ferry Street is one of my stops when I am in northern New Jersey and hungry.
Cannot leave without having the chorizo and the garlic shrimp. This is a great place for sandwiches/salads. It's actually a log cabin with new age-type decor inside.
Try the four cheese MoonFondue Dip. I especially like the Muffaletta. The sandwiches are enormous with fresh olive oil, prosciutto, and signature sprig of rosemary. Near the Jackson Outlets/Great Adventure. The chef, Kazu is originally from Osaka and a friendly, personable guy. Fresh fish, cozy atmosphere, nice people, great service--what more can you ask for?
Everything is good, and the rice is perfect. I have had sushi in Japan--this is just as good if not better!! Try the Rainbow Roll, and of course, sit at the sushi bar to watch him make it. P.S.
