Lafayette Village: Antiques galore

    This picturesque little town is teeming with antique shops all within a few blocks of each other. You could go for hours and not get through them all! There is also an art gallery, some craft shops and a cafe or two. Not to mention that just down the road are some outlets that are also worth a stop. We like to do our Christmas shopping in Lafayette, it has something for everyone!.

    Stop by the Chocolate Goat for all types of treats. Not only do they have a wonderful selection of candy, but lots of Christamas ornaments, Bath products, candles and other goodies.

    Some things are very expensive, some are deals. Lou likes to charm the older ladies into giving us better prices, hey it always works!

    Campmor is a well known camping store/mail order that sends out little Black and White catalogs all over the country. Lucky for me, their actual store location is not terribly far from my house.
    They have pretty much anything you will need if you are a camper, biker or avid hiker. Besides a large array of tents, sleeping bags, air mattresses, cots, backpacks, bikes and cooking parephenalia, they also have a good selection of clothing and shoes and boots, plus many more miscellaneous items you didn't know you needed. (But then discover you must have, even if you're just camping for the night!)

    I find it's good to stop in for time to time to see what goodies they have on sale. I have gotten countless amounts of gear here, so I can't recommend just one thing

    Bed BAth and Beyond ~ I went gah gah shopping here. tehy were on sale when we visited this place. They were on sale from pillows, comforter to curtains and bed sheets.
    A ncie place to shop for home decorations, beddings and linens.
    We were able to buy hypo allergenic pillows, bed sheets and duvet.

    Bridgewater Common houses different designer shops like Nike, Victoria's Secret, bebe, etc. They also have shops selling electronics, home stuffs etc. Food court and coffee shops are also available. cinema is located on the second floor.

    Mall of Short Hills is one of the largst shopping mall in new Jersey. This is where you can find designer shops like Louis Vuttion, Salvatorre Ferragamo, Lacoste etc. Interconnected to it are Bloomigdales and Macy's. Nice place to stroll around during weekend but make sure to be there early coz all shopping malls in NJ (not so sure if all over US) close at 6pm during weekend.

    Barnes and Noble is located within Raritan Mall. Books, magazines and other reading materials can be found here. You cna also find Starbuck inside. SO, just in case you want to pass time...get a nice reading material while having coffee or hot choco

    Bloomigdales is one of the high end shops in Raritan. Clothes, shoes, accessories, Bags etc..all what a fashionista could think of they could find it here.

    Looking for a nice place to buy electronics, video games etc? You can drop by Circuit City. They usually have monthly sale for laptops, computers video games and cameras.

    Stop and Shop is located just at the back of the apartment where my parents live. It is possible to reach the place by walking. They sell fresh veggies, fruits, meat, seafoods and other grocery items.
    Just within the area, you can find Asian restaurants, Salon, Barber shop, spa, gym etc.

    If you have ever been to a farmers market you will love this place, if you have never shopped at a farmers market you will love this place. It is huge and has every thing you can think of at a discount. There are several places to grab a bite to eat, you know grease pits, fries, dogs, burgers, roasted nuts, you know all the stuff thats NOT good for you. You really can find just about any thing here but be careful and look closely at lables, some thing are knockoffs so becareful. Bring lots of cash, some of the venders in here have started to take Visa & MC, suggest bringing money and lots of it because you will find some thing, might be a wood carving or a piece of jewelry the your lady really likes and you can't say no. Have fun and walk around browse some because the prices can vary for the same item, don't just buy it at the first place you look because you WILL see it later for a cheaper price.

    Cowtown is only open on Tuesday & Saturday from around 7:00am until 5:00pm or so
    Some times you may get lucky on there will be a rodeo on Tuesday night, thats xool.
