I just found the most incredible Somers Point website for moms.
It's a free interactive local website that lets Moms manage their personal universe – household, circle of family & friends, local community. You can keep a family calendar, organize & share photos, trade, buy & sell outgrown stuff. You can give and get opinions on local doctors, restaurants, daycare & much more. Local events, sales, seminars, support groups and more are listed. I have it as a constant on my desktop and check it daily for anything new.

The food here is good. Its a diner. Nothing too special. I would eat in though. When you get stuff to go, the bread ( if you have bread, like a sandwich or something ) is soggy. I don't think they know how to wrap stuff to go very well , But then again it could have just been the person that wrapped my stuff that day. The Point Diner , is like ,...more

Caroline's Bar & Restaurant is a nice place to come on a warm summer night. The staff walks around and takes your photo for free ( and yes , they let you keep it ) The food is pretty good, but the bar is just okay. Nothing too special , but the atmosphere is nice. Very chill , and you can relax outdoor on the deck. Bring a light sweatshirt, it...more
The breakfast is really good. The staff is really rude. I always get the same thing, and somehow the price is different every time. I think they just wing it, and don't have a set price for a lot of things. They staff doesn't really smile very much, they are very, "wham bam thank you ma'am", get it, get out is the feeling I get. Especially during...more
Hot Bagels is my savior for lunch almost every other day while I am at work . They have the best bagels I have ever sunk my teeth into. Im talking hot, toasted, bagels, with so many spreads you cant keep track. Great outside deck with live music on weekends. Go by boat or car. Free docking for patrons, $5 cover charge on Sundays.I left this picture up even though the Waterfront was sold and changed to Sails restaurant. Well now Sails is closed and someone new is going to give it a shot! It will be fun to have a new bar to go to by boat! Dress for the...more
Two pool tables, local crowd, great food, great beer, DJ, big screen TV, separate dining area. After the September 11th fire that almost took the Anchorage, they are finally open again. The whole community pulled together to get their favorite establishment up and running! Casualmore
Because of its huge deck, Caroline's gets packed on Friday nights in the summer with a young, good looking crowd (21-40). Then, if you return Saturday, you are not likely to find it as packed. It is as if everyone leaves Somers Point. In the winter it also gets packed on Fridays, but it is a little scary. The locals keep to themselves and before...more
Two Tin Crows is a cute little country gift store. I went in here a few times because they sell chocolate biscotti. But other than that, they have beautiful pashmima's and other throw's & wraps. They have the cutest cards for all types of holidays and occasions, they sell fudge and candy, as well as homemade decorations and such for your house. A perfect store for gifts.
What to buy: Anything you want!
What to pay: A little expensive, but not bad
If you want to drink 'real' beer, Schooners has the best selection of imported beers in town. As Richiedisc pointed out, its not as good as it used to be. But if everyone that visits Somers Point requests their favorite beer, maybe the variety will get better again. So its your duty to travelers to bring back the old days at Schooners. They need a cook also.
Drinks are expensive on the deck at The Waterfront in the summer, but its always crowded on the weekends and we go often anyways. Live island music Sunday Nights. Go by boat and its even more fun!
Luggage and bags:
If you're headed to Ocean City and you want to drink Spirits, Stop at Circle Liquor and get your supplies. Because OC doesn't serve liquor but they do accept American Express
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Resort
Miscellaneous: They deliver for free to area towns including OC, Whoh cool.
Rent a small fishing boat from the Dolphin Dock on Bay Ave. Next to the Waterfront Restaurant. Don has all the tackle, gear and equipment you need. Check out the blackboard out front to see where the hot bite is.
the Dolphin dock has all the Bait and Tackle you need for a day of fishing. Rob and Joan will take good care of you, including letting you know where the fish are biting and what they're biting on. You say you don't have a boat? They even have rental boats from 14' to 20' and rental equipment. Don't forget there are fishing piers and bridges close by along with jetties and beach fishing. You can't go wrong.
Equipment: You name it, they've got it. Just bring your credit card :-)
See the town from the water. Grab dinner on the bay.
Fondest memory: During the summer many of the bars and restaurants along the bay have transient docks. The Waterfront Bar and Restaurant, on left, Has live music on the weekends and the deck gets packed. Its great to go there by boat. On the far right is the Anchorage and in between is Smitty's and a couple marinas.
