Here is a nice garden right next to Sand Castle Park and behind the Ventnor Library, great for mom or dad who took their kids to the park nextdoor (yes you can still see your kids) and them later you can go to the library or the beach since they are both a couple feet away !

Take an Outdoor Shower after the beach !

    by April1985 Written Aug 22, 2008

Who wants sand in their bathing suit ? Not me ! These out door showers are great . I don't need one , since I have one in my backyard ( like most ventnor residence ) However , these are on most ventnor beaches , dont take my word for it , But I have seen a few ! They're really nice, and mostly in the touristy areas. After a nice day at the beach a refreshing shower just makes it a lot better and makes the walk/drive home a lot more relaxing!

    Pee in a toilet !

    by April1985 Written Aug 22, 2008

Lately the beaches have been building up. By building up I mean outdoor bathrooms. I found some today ( they're not on every beach ) that were handicapped. They were bright orange, and for some reason on the dunes! Which I am so against. But maybe they move them up there after hours , and move them back down during the day. Kind of funny that the handicapped bathrooms are on top of the dunes ??? ironic don't cha think ? Anyway , if you are in need of a potty , please pee in a bathroom and not in the ocean :) thats why they're there !

    Fishing on the beach

    by April1985 Written Aug 22, 2008

Fishing on the beach can be fun because you never know what you're going to get. Just be sure to fish after beach hours ( 10-6 ) or in a designated fishing area, like by the fishing pier. Sometimes your hook can fall off in the ocean or sand and be harmful to beach goers . No one wants a hook in their foot:)

    Fishing Pier

    by April1985 Written Aug 22, 2008

The fishing pier is free to walk on , to a certain distance , then you have to have a key to get past a fence . There is a day pass or a yearly pass I think . But basically you can buy a key that lets you have access to the pier and you can go fishing off of the scary tall edge ... Great if you like to fish ! A great family activity ! There is a sink with 3 or 4 faucits to wash the fish off with, trash cans, bathrooms, and even benches dedicated to lost loved ones. Its a nice quiet time and people stay out there all through out the day and into the night . Hey why not , thats when the big fish come out right ?

    by April1985 Written Aug 22, 2008

This vollyball court is also next to the basketball court & tennis court . It's in a great location for families who have kids who want to do different things, and the parents want to lay on the beach.

    Learn on the Boardwalk !

    by April1985 Written Aug 22, 2008

Okay so I don't know if you are aware of this or not , but the ventnor boardwalk is actually the atlantic city boardwalk too ... It is the largest boardwalk in the USA .. yep .. thats the truth .. anyway , the AC part of the boardwalk has a monopoly card on every street ( you know because the game monopoly was based on the streets of atlantic city! its the truth ) well , since they wanted to keep consistany with what was on the ac part of the boards they continued with the history all down through ventnor. So pretty much at every street there is a sign on the boardwalk that tells you a little bit about something that has to do with that street . if it's about the ventnor beach patrol , or about birds , its something you and the whole family and stop and read and take something home from ventnor that isnt something like , "we went to the beach" or "we ate at lots of restaurants" or "i built a sand castle" your kids can say "i learned about the history of life guard in ventnor city" or "i learned about a specific type of bird that like to eat oysters and runs from the water" -- i made that up , maybe i should read some cards ???

Ventnor has some really beautiful houses! And they are all professionally landscaped (or at least thats how they look ) Perhaps they just have really attentive owners ! Back on topic, the houses are beautiful shore houses . Some vacation homes, some year round homes . Regardless they are worthy of a photograph to remember what you saw in ventnor !

    Walk on the Beach

    by April1985 Written Aug 22, 2008
group of people walking on the beach

Walking on the beach not only works your legs, but they say if you walk on the beach everyday (or every day of your vacation) you won't need a pedicure! This is because the sand exfoliates your feet , and the salt water heals any scars or anything bad on your skin ! The ocean is a natural healer! Enjoy!

    Collect Sea Shells

    by April1985 Written Aug 22, 2008
    girl collecting shells

When I go on vacation, I always want to save a tiny bit of sand, or some unique sea shells, I never actually do it because I always forget. But, even if you aren't going to bring them home, looking at sea shells while you walk on the beach is a fun activity. See hat kinds of shells there are native to this area, and maybe take pictures of them. I'm sure that will smell a lot better in your luggage !

Surfing! What fun! Wish I knew how! HaHa... I watch people surf all the time, and I always wanted to learn, but I am just so scared of sharks. Maybe if I learned when I was still a kid, I wouldn't be so afraid! Well, vetnor has a lot of good waves, so if you do surf, you should deff check into this activity !
