by richiecdisc watch the tram car please... watch the tram car please....watch the tram car please....watch the tramcar please..... You will soon tire of this phrase but the tramcar is an integral part of the Boardwalk experience. You don't need to take it, the boardwalk is only three miles long, but you will certainly have to watch out for it! Leave a Comment Theme: Other

by richiecdisc The most common way is by car and is about 90 minutes from Philadelphia and two and a half hours from New York City. Buses are fairly convenient from both locations as well. You can also come via the ferry from Delaware to Cape May, and drive to Wildwood from there. Leave a Comment Theme: Other

by kiwihead Since the beach is so wide in the Wildwoods, If you have problems walking (elderly or disabled) from the boardwalk to the shore, the beach patrol can give you a ride in one of their nice looking trucks. Leave a Comment Theme: Other

I would highly recommend to anyone thinking of spending the summer in wildwood to buy a bike! Buy it from the start to get ur moneys worth cos you'll only end up buying one later anyway. First of all, if you need a job it'l help both to find one an dto get to it-theres motels and hotels miles up and down the shore you may need to get to. secondly, its the only way to see wildwood apart from the boardwalk and all that. Wildwood crest and north wildwood are really pretty and not as commercialised as wildwood so a cycle up there would be nice. DOnt buy a new bile ( I paid $8.30 for mine off some randomer at 5 in the morning after a night out!!!) they might be stolen but they're old an bockety so the're not worth a whole lot anyway. Tip though-for the same reason-always lock the bike-it will be stolen in a matter of minutes if you dont!! Leave a Comment Theme: Bicycle

Air - Atlantic City International, or Philadelphia. From Pennsylvania or Delaware - Down route 55 to 47. From North Jersey or NY - down the Garden State Pkwy. Walking and bicycles short distances. Tramcar on boardwalk. Trolley (bus) around island or to Cape May. Driving anywhere but traffic congested on weekends. Cabs available but uncommon. Buses to other cities. Ferry from Cape May to Lewes, Delaware. Leave a Comment Theme: Other

Life Guard Towers are Numbered by penumbra Parking in Wildwood is a challenge, but once you find that elusive spot, how do you find your car again after a day at the beach? (1) Don’t ignore the obvious… look at the street names at the nearest corner. (2) If your memory is as bad as mine, write down the names of the streets (or take a picture with your digital camera). (3) Walk straight towards the beach, don’t zigzag… then find a landmark near your entrance to the beach. (4) Again, make a note of the landmark or take a picture. (5) Walk straight out towards the nearest life guard tower and note the number on the tower. (6) Agree on a designated meeting point for you group in case any one gets lost or separated. Now you can look for the perfect spot on the beach knowing that getting back to your car will be as easy as 1-2-3. Driving back home on the crowded roads may be a different matter. The dam tram by asturnut Once you've reached the Boardwalk, there is a funny little vehicle called a tram car. Because the Boardwalk is so long it is useful to take the Tram when you are tired or short on time. Families with children and older adults are the usual customers of the tram. It's a modest fee to use the Tram so keep aside a little money at the end of the day in case you need it. Cash only. You should also be careful not to walk in front of the tram, or you will hear an announcment warning you to watch the "damn car" about 2 seconds before you get run over.
