Favorite thing: You can drive on the road that surrounds the lake, for an overview of the lake. The road is windy and offers various different views of the lake from different angles. If you drive for awhile, you will pass a bridge over a mini canyon -- it's worth checking it out. I didin't actually drive all the way down the road, because i really wanted to get in the water, so we turned the car around when we could no longer see the lake. =)

Favorite thing: You can swim, jet ski, ride your boat, etc... To swim, you have to go to one of the boar docks, the bigger one, and as you enter the dirt paring lot, walk to the left, where the big smooth rocks are. You have to climb down to the water for a dip. The rocks are big and smooth enough for you to lay down on it, just keep an eye out for pieces of broken glass bottles. You can jump off some of the rocks, just watch out the depth of the lake before you jump... or just watch some of the local kids... Jumping off the rocks into the water is not allowed, keep an eye out for the park ranger or you might end up with a ticket.

Abiquiu lake is a welcoming site after driving in the hot sun. The lake is huge, with a beautiful shade of blue and red cliffs surrounding it.. By the way, Abiquiu lake is man-made..
This is the plave I lived for a month out in the middle of nowhere...what a beautiful experience:)
