Don't leave home without it
Bring various layers of clothing. We have weird weather here sometimes, usually in the fall and spring, you can never be certain weather its going to be hot all day or cold. Good walking shoes and a good windbreaker jacket in the fall and spring

Lotion & sunblock any time of year is a good idea for this area. I would also keep a well kept first aide kit in the car for the outdoor adventures.

Water water and more water. A lot of places you find nice to camp don't have drinking water not to mention you don't want to break down somewhere without something to keep you hydrated or put in the car. We always try to keep a gallon in the car at all times, but especially on road trips.

sun sun sun
sandals and flip flops... its way too hot in summer to wear sneakers all the time. don't forget your sunglasses for driving and most any time outside.

snake bite kit if you plan on hiking around the desert away from the city or a phone. rattle snakes are pretty comon.

for anyone who is fair skinned or from a cooler climate, SUNSCREEN SUNSCREEN SUNSCREEN!!! And a good lip balm too.

Excellent sunsets from the city and the white sands, beautiful starry skies even in the middle of town.... so bring the camera that can capture both pictures.

good camping in mountains off HWY 82, so bring a tent and all the outdoor goods. If you really want to rough it, head to Bailey Canyon.
