Allsup's in a convenience store chain in the area. The headquarters is located across the street from the highschool.
Allsup's is a favorite among highschoolers and drunk people.
Favorite Dish: Allsup's Burritos: beef and bean wrapped in a tortilla, deep fried. great with taco sauce and/or ranch.
Allsup's Chimichanga: chicken and cheese wrapped in a tortilla, deep fried. great with taco sauce and/or ranch.
Spicy Chicken Bites: pieces of chicken breaded in spicy stuff, deep fried. great with ranch.

Saeng's is a small, privately owned restaurant right outside of the air force base. It used to be called Dee's, until the owners divorced.
Saeng's has great food in large portions for a fair price.
Favorite Dish: in highschool i always ordered shrimp fried rice, it's amazing.
in more recent visits i've ordered the pad thai. the tofu without eggs is vegan, and the spicy is REALLY spicy.

The expectation when one goes to a Chinese buffet is to not expect all of the dishes to be great or even good. With typically dozens of dishes on offer, they can't all be great. But China Star's buffet dishes, at least the ones I tried, were mediocre at best. Food was dry or tasteless or uninspired. Perhaps the better bet would be to order off the menu. Staff and service were good...it just wasn't a very good meal in my opinion.

You'll get good down home cooking at the Cotton Patch Cafe. Meatloaf, country fried steak, salads, and soups are tasty and filling. The full dining room is an indication of its popularity in this small town. Staff are very friendly and the service is good. One of the better dining experiences in Clovis.
Favorite Dish: Country fried steak

A bit tough to find on the southwest side of town, Guadalajara is a family-owned restaurant that's been around for a while. Food is freshly prepared, is tasty, and plentiful. Service is top notch although when we were there it was early and not too crowded yet. The cool thing about New Mexico is that sopapillas with honey are complimentary in most Mexican and New Mexican food restaurants. They are so heavenly!
Favorite Dish: Sopapillas: mmmmmmm!

My two most favorite restaurants are found in Portales, NM, just 30 minutes south of Clovis. They're both Mexican restaurants and serve great food. The first one is Juanito's and the second is La Hacienda or La Ha to the locals.
The best chinese restaurant can be found in Clovis called China Star. It's a big buffett and everything you want for chinese. It's really clean and has a great atmosphere.
Great atmosphere and inexpensive food.
Favorite Dish: My favorite menu items are anything with Green chili. Try the Green Chili Chicken enchiladas or build your own sampler with Tamales, Enchiladas and Tacos.

The decor was nothing that special but the food was good as was the service. Very cute waitress named Angelica. Hours are 11 AM to 10 PM daily.
Favorite Dish: I really enjoyed my Veal Parmesan, very tasty.
