    Restaurant interior - cool lights!

Wow, my dad insisted on going to this restaurant for Father's day - I'm so glad I let him have his way!

This little place is currently only known to locals ..... it offers various Asian specialties from Pad Thai, Gyoza, Mushu and others. The servings are humongous and absolutely meant to be shared!

Favorite Dish: This day we had pot stickers, pepper steak w/ veggies, and orange pork ... the steamed rice was nice and stickey too :)

The best find of the day was the ice cream and fried bannanas .... oh my goodness! My mouth is watering again just writing about it ...

This restaurant in housed in an old adobe ranch house - it's well over 200 years old as of this writing. Exposed timbers, cozy seating, patio dining and wonderful food all contribute to making this a wonderful dining experience.

Rancho de Corrales: Great New Mexican Food in Historic Adobe

by MarkJochim Updated Apr 4, 2011

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

This sprawling adobe hacienda in the Village of Corrales was built in 1801 by Diego Montoya. In 1898, the hacienda's owner murdered his wife and was soon after killed during a lengthy gun battle with an armed posse. Due to the cirmumstances of their deaths, the Embertos weren't permitted to be buried in the village cemetary; instead, their graves lie across the irrigation ditch to the west of the restaurant. Locals claim that their restless ghosts still make their presence known. For some time, the restaurant was known as the Territorial House and has been called Rancho de Corrales since 1987.

Favorite Dish: The restaurant serves a wide variety of traditional New Mexican food and it's difficult to choose just one favorite. The Corrales Compuesto is wonderful with its beef, beans and chorizo served in a cupped tortilla shell surrounded by chile con queso, guacamole and tostadas. I normally don't order seafood unless I'm close to the ocean, but I really enjoyed the Enchiladas del Mar on one visit. This is two flat enchiladas stuffed with crab and shrimp topped with chile con queso and melted cheese, sauteed with bell pepper and onions.

The back door of Village Pizza

This pizza joint is one of the few places that actually delivers to the back roads of Corrales, so it is a popular place for locals too :) You'll find daytrippers as well as local villagers hanging out in their dining room or on their patio - all while enjoying this lovely taste of heaven ...

    Favorite Dish: Pizza, of course!
