The Western Heritage Museum is located on the campus of the New Mexico Junior College and showcases the cultural heritage of the Llano Estacado along with housing the Cowboy Hall of Fame. Lea County has produced more rodeo champions than any other county.

Hobbs has a population of about 30,000 and is located on US Highways 62 and 180 in the Southeast Corner of New Mexico. It has a very nice historic district with trees, benches to relax on and people watch and several buildings of architectural and historic interest. There is also a small park in the district with an obelisk showing town history and a nice mural.

Chilis on Joe Harvey Blvd. is pretty hopping at night. There aren't too many night spots so this gets pretty crowded and rowdy and good for people watching. Most places close early so this is a plus.
