We asked at the desk of our hotel for a place that served Mexican food. This restaurant is a bit off the beaten tourist route and seemed to be a favorite of the locals. The food was very good and the costs were very reasonable!
Favorite Dish: I had an old-fashioned enchilada. It was served open-faced on a thick flat bread. I chose the green sauce ... it was very good. The serving was most generous.

Raton is a small town in northeast New Mexico that is located where highway 87/64 intersects I-25. Because of the location it has many choices in places to eat and stay.
When a bunch of Spanish explorers came back to their camp and found everything destroyed by a group of large rats, they named the place "Rat," which, in Spanish, would be "Raton."
