There are some nice places to hike along the top of the mountain in Red River with spectacular views. From the top of the ski lift, we turned right, and hiked along the ridge line, then the trail turned on the backside of the mountain and continued through a lush aspen forest.
Red river has done a nice job of providing summer activities for the family at the ski resort. They set up inner tube tracks going down one of the small bunny hills. There were two tracks from that you ride down from a small ski lift, then there is a smaller track off to the side for kids under 7 years old.
Just gorgeous, peaceful... I thoroughly enjoyed it! Our family took a ride up the mountain on my birthday. Tickets were $15 per adult, $11 per child. There is a small place to eat up at the top, as well as plenty of hiking trails and a frisbee golf course. The ride took about 30min to get to the top
In the winter there are plenty of snow related activities Red River Ski and Snowboard Area, located right in the center of town, is a short walk from most lodges. Cross-country skiers can explore miles of beautiful trails at the Enchanted Forest Cross Country Ski and Snowshoe Area just five minutes away. Or you can hop on a snowmobile to discover the scenic backcountry or cruise miles of groomed trails all the way up to 11,249-foot Greenie Peak.
In the center of town there is a nice paved path along the river. "Toni Woerndle Memorial River Park".
