Babbitt Corner Things to Do
visit Westcott Beach State Park
This is a lovely park with a good beach right on Lake Ontario in the shelter of Henderson Bay.
There are many picnic sites on the hills and fields overlooking the lakefront. Camping for both tenters and RVers is popular at this park also. To the north end of the park there is a marina where you can fish from shore or rent a boat or launch your own small outboard motor boat.
The park features two playgrounds for the kids and public restrooms conveniently located near the picnic areas, the beach and the playground. There are some short hiking trails that can be used by trail-skiers in the winter.
Campsites are like most New York State parks, first come first served. They supply water and electric and showers and restrooms. There is a camp store where you can get odds and ends and a central recreation center where the kids can hangout on rainy days.
Call 800-456-2267 for reservations and the latest prices.
The park (including camping) is open from May through October. The park hours (except for camping) are dawn to dusk.Related to:
