The main menu here is a mix of Southern-fried and Barbecue. Featured meals are St. Louis Ribs (which can go for $9 to $20 depending on portion), Cajun-style Steak (big enough for two to eat at $20) and Blackened Chicken for under $15. The main meal comes with salad and vegetable. They serve seafood and some Italian dishes and a whole list of wraps.
See the website below for the full menu.
The place is all dark wood inside and has a small open deck on the canal outside.
There is a bar section attached to the dining room. The interior is an open setting and can get a bit noisy on busy days. The service is always fast and friendly. The food is delicious and served the way you ordered it. The prices are slightly above average but the portions are generous (you will have a doggie bag!). Dress is very casual.
Bill Gray's restaurant in Brockport is another franchise in a long list of units that have been popular in Western New York State. Their motto is: you deserve the best and we bring it to you.
This is an upscale fast food place with good meat sandwiches and reasonable prices.
The inside is bright with both booths and tables and a lot of light colored wood. It has tile floors and formica serving counter. You go to the counter where a cashier takes your order (from a list of menu choices on the light-board behind the counter). You get an order number and go find a seat. In about 5-10 minutes your order is ready and you can go get the food tray and take it back to your table.
The cost per adult meal is a little over $10 and kid's meals are about $5.
There are no servers other than the counter people but there are plenty of cleanup people who keep the place spotless.
It is a very casual place where families are welcomed and mishaps and spills are taken in stride by the staff. Besides the lunch/dinner menu of sandwiches they also have soups and salads and the usual extras (fries, vegetables, onion rings). The desserts consist chiefly of ice cream treats (cones, sundaes, milkshakes).
It is a nice place to take the family for a fairly cheap dinner.
This pizzeria is popular with the college crowd in Brockport.
Their motto is "consistently good pizza, delivered hot and speedy".
And they live up to that too. It isn't much of a pizza shop but they have a great menu.
All kinds of toppings for the pizzas, submarine (hoagy) sandwiches, fresh salads, chicken wings and fingers, fried mushrooms, hot poppers and other finger snacks.
They deliver anywhere in the Brockport area in less than one-half hour.
call in and give them a try.
Whip some air into your ice cream and you might get the texture of Abbott's but not the taste.
They put some special ingredients into their mix that gives it a unique flavor that I prefer over other whipped ice cream.
For $3 you can get a small cone or dish with chocolate sprinkles. For $6 you can get a banana boat which is a huge banana split. They have ice cream cakes too for a bit more money. You'd prefer a sundae? they have plenty to choose from. You want something other than chocolate or vanilla? they have 7 smooth flavors and dozens of hardpack flavors too.
from the ads:
"Generations of customers have created family memories at Abbott’s. We are a Rochester tradition, part of the history of the people of our community.
To this day Abbott’s Frozen Custard has preserved its reputation for the best hand dipped homemade frozen custard anywhere."
It is truely great ice cream.
This is a retro-diner, a throwback to the 50s era with juke box and checkerboard patterns. They offer breakfast, lunch and dinner, but I think the dinner menu is the best.
You can get Angus Steak or Porterhouse for a dollar an ounce. Or maybe you prefer a baked ham plate for $8. Baby Back ribs for $10 a half-rack. If you don't like the beef or pork you can always choose a chicken dinner or a pasta bowl. They have an extensive seafood menu but I have never had a fish fry there so I cannot tell if it is good or not.
If you have the family with you, then the kids can choose something from their very own menu of choices picked just for their appetites.
Dinner for two runs an easy $40 plus tax and tip which is a bit pricy bit the food is really good and the service is friendly and the atmosphere is my generation.
