Most of the Bronx is off the beaten path to tourists. There are many fabulous neighborhoods and even some to be avoided. Or at least explored carefully. But just like every city the real gems are in the off the beat path places. There are decent golf courses. Great restaurants. Even extensive park lands.
I took this pic of a NYC firefighter's wedding from my husband's grandparents' window . The bride and groom are posing for photos on the fire truck. Very nice to see a firefighter celebration after all these months of funerals and memorial services. This was taken a few months after 9/11.
Henry Hudson Park is located in Southern Riverdale. It's home to a large statue of Henry Hudson, and is close the Parkway and Bridge named for Hudson as well.
The Park is in a relatively safe neighborhood and is a nice place to relax. In winter, it can be a nice place to take kids sledding.
The specific adress is on Palisade Avenue.
