When are you coming?
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: We have 4 seasons here in NYC. In February 2003 and 2006 we had 22 inches of snow in one day. A week after I didnt need a coat. It changes. Any temperate climate is a good example of what to wear.
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Hospitals every few blocks it seems.
Photo Equipment: Great scenes to be captured. Bring a camera always.
PACK ACCORDING TO THE SEASON
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: NYC is just like every other part of New York State. There are 4 very distinct seasons that all have weather that can vary from day to day. Try to check the area forecast a day or so before leaving to come here that way you can pack accordingly. The one thing I suggest you definately pack is a good pair of walking shoes. Also bring something to wear out dancing.
Photo Equipment: A camera is a must.
Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: I don't suggest swimming here unless its at a pool in the hotel.

Practical things to bring
Luggage and bags: Bring unassuming luggage if you want to take it back home.
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Bullet Proof Vest if you happen to have one
Hoodies are prevalent in the Bronx, regardless of the time of year. There are plenty of shops that sell these if you forgot to pack your G-Unit styled one.
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Your usual gun shot wound first aid box will suffice.
Photo Equipment: Mobile phone cameras are the safest to bring along.. anything else will be nicked before you take it out of your bag.
