one of their handmade onesies!

How do you describe this shop? It's got everything from breastpumps to gorgeous nursing shawls to lace nursing bras and more. They have slings to try on,and because of that I was able to purchase one right then and wear it out! Since nyc is a great place to walk, carrying your baby makes it so much easier. They are very parent/child friendly, and have all sorts of things to make your time with baby easier. You have really stepped into a unique shop when you enter. With handwritten signs, funky onesies, and place to sit and nurse, it's really worth stopping by if you're in nyc.

What to buy: Get the Belabumbum nursing bra, see which sling is right for you, and check out their fantastic book collection. If you're nursing they stock the "hooter hiders" and these nice light muslin cloth swaddlers which make it easier to nurse in public. They also have "made in brooklyn" onesies. Super cute shop!

What to pay: Average, below average for this brownstone area of park slope. $40 for a baby sling. (?)

A small, but wonderful selection

This is a very cute shop on 6th Avenue and Union Street in Park Slope. It has a small selection of toys for the younger set, but it's focus seems to be clothing and mommy needs.

Open M-F 11 - 7 pm
or Sat and Sun 10 - 6 pm

What to buy: Breast pump supplies, good nursing support, "made in Brooklyn" onesies and t-shirts, and a solid selection of maternity outfits make up the bulk of the items.

The owner is very knowledgeable and very kind. It's not cheap, but the items are high quality. Stop in if you need a gift or an emergency back-up bra!

What to pay: How much depends on what you buy, of course. I bought a $4 baby gift (very cute vibrating insect thing) and a $17 "Brooklyn" one-piece outfit as a gift.
