Here's the best thing to know about other people driving in Brooklyn. People drive someplace and when they get there, the stop their cars and get out. They don't bother looking for a legitimate space at all. Cars are double parked, triple parked...parked in the middle of the inner lanes, on the medians, on the sidewalks. Chances are, even if one lane looks clear, you'll come up to a car and wonder why it's not moving. That's because it's "parked" And if you ever get directions that tell you Flatbush Ave. is the best way to get from the southern part of brooklyn to the northern part, it's a lie. The Belt to the BQE is much better, and that's not saying much.
