The Theatre District is THE...
The Theatre District is THE spot for Buffalo nightlife. It features at least 10 performance theatres, a cinema, and many dance clubs. There are even all-night coffee shops so you can get your mocha fix at 3 AM. Most of the theatres (including the two largest, Shea's Centre for the Performing Arts and the Studio Arena Theatre) are on Main Street. of particular interest is the Alleyway Theatre, down a dark alleyway. Don't worry about your safety here- the alley lies next to Buffalo Police Headquarters. The clubs are mainly along Chippewa Street, which has evolved into quite the swinging destination. Some clubs offer as many as five levels of different dance floors to choose from. In essence, this is the most happening area of Western New York at night.
Dress Code: At the theatre, especially a nice musical at Shea's or a classic work like Shakespeare, have the decency to wear something nice. At the clubs, dress as you please.
