Flying Tigers, you can watch the planes land and take off. It's very romantic and very cozy.
The wait staff is very accomodating, like if you have special requests. I celebrated a Birthday there and they took my picture with my guy and let me pay when he wasn't around etc.

HOAK'S RESTAURANT: Located right on the shores of Lake Erie on Route 5 in Hamburg.
Perhaps my favorite 'Fish Fry' in Erie County. For those of you not familiar with the term, this is a local tradition, typically for Lent, but usually also served Fridays all year. At Hoaks you can get it any day, I believe. It is a beer battered or breaded fish, usually Haddock, served with fries or potato salad, and cole slaw. Excellent! KENTUCKY GREG'S HICKORY PIT: The only true southern BBQ joint in Erie County. It is definitely worth a visit. The proprietor comes from Paducah, KY and has brought that southern BBQ north with him.
Everything. Pulled Pork, both as a platter and sandwich, Memphis style (with cole slaw) is outstanding. The Brunswick Stew and Chicken & Sausage Gumbo are also certainly worth a try. My favorite Restaurant in Buffalo has to be Mighty Taco. I just love a good extra hot Super Mighty with halepenos. I always have 2. I only get back to the area about twice a year. My second favorite isn't in Buffalo but rather in a little place called Water Valley. The Water Valley Inn. This place is run by a friend of mine named Debbie. Try it sometime, you will not be dis-appointed.
The prices are great and the portions are huge.

While it is not my favorite restaurant, I would also like to plug the Anchor Bar.
The Home of the Chicken Wing. Created by Momma Theresa herself. They also have some wonderful live jazz if you hit the right night.

In the sixties, the Buffalo Wing craze was started at this unique small restaurant. There is a huge collection of memorabilia
scattered throughout this surprisingly small place. Yes, the wings are very good. It appears that the blend of people is about 50 percent locals and 50 percent tourists. (Although I'm not sure WHICH class I would put the strange guy we saw shaking morracas for tip money next to the jukebox that night.)
