Amy's Place: Awesome falafel wraps

  • This place is slightly grungy but somehow pulls it off without seeming neglected. It's a cool place with local art and simple tables/atmosphere and all. The staff are cool and nice and the prices aren't too bad. And good music too. A lot of University at Buffalo students come during the year since it's right on Main Street at South campus.

I highly recommend a falafel wrap (I get mine with hummus instead of tahini sauce). Their other wraps are great too.

    Anchor Bar: Great Chicken wings!

  • The Anchor Bar is well know for their chicken wings as they claim to be the home of the chicken wing....and the way they make them, they can make that claim! They are great!

The Anchor Bar is a small restaurant/bar which has live jazz music some nights, and offers some great food as well as their chicken wings.

It's a good place to have a meal while in town! And if you see a big guy behing the turntables when you are there then make sure to yell out "Hey Big Dog! Florian says Hi!"

  • If you even wonder why Buffalo wings are called Buffalo wings than look no further. They were invented in Buffalo NY at the world famous Anchor Bar. If you've never had buffalo wings then I truly pity you, for you have not lived. Sampling is a must for any visitor to the north east of North America.

Buffalo wings. Make sure you pick up some outstanding "suicidal recipe" sauce to take home. You'll be in heart clogging heaven!

  • This place is a bar and a great place to get chicken wings. They have about 10 different combinations between a set quantity of wings, a bucket of fries, a pitcher of soda and a pitcher of beer. The wings can be hotter than you ever imagined, or to suit your taste. The last time I was there, there was a warning at the bottom of the menu, and this is what it said: "Warning- Our mild wings are hot, our medium wings are very hot, and our hot wings are very, very hot." If you've never had hot wings before, then I suggest you get the mild with the hot sauce on the side.

  • Lets start with the Ancor Bar, you know, home of the wing. Othere great local spots are Mighty Taco, Louies Texas Hots, Hillview Restaurant / Diner, Olympus, Ted's Texas Hots, another trip to Mighty Taco, The Buffalo Brew Pub, Cheers, Picasso's Pizza, and desert at Mighty Taco just to name a few. I dare you to find better food in any other city!

Feel Rite Fresh Markets: Vegan Lunch/Supper place in Buffalo,NY

  • This is a good place for a quick lunch/supper in Buffalo,NY
close to Univ. at Buffalo(North Campus). The deli features
    vegan/vegetarian menu(along with a few meat items).

Chef Toni is without doubt The Soup Nazi who whips up
a dizzying array of soups many of which are vegan. The menu
also features a few salads, sandwiches and stir fries. The
kitchen gets an A+ for Quality Assurance!

Without doubt the next stop after Niagara Falls...

Hummus stuffit washed down with a soup. Vegetable stir-fry is
good -- though a bit bland.

    Hutch's: Great city dining

  • Hutch's is another perennial favorite. While other come and go, Hutch's goes on and on serving great food and packing people in. The menu offers a variety of dishes, both small and large plates. Pasta, meats, seafood, whatever you like you can probably find on the menu.

They also have a great wine selection, both by the bottle or glass.

You should definitely call for reservations.

My favorite is the Jambalaya Pasta. It is a fettucini dish that is loaded with shrimp, chicken and chorizo sausage, all in a spicy tomato cream sauce. Try it, you'll like it.

  • If you have a really special occasion such as graduation, engagement, etc. Oliver's is the place to go. The taster's menu includes a fixed list of dishes with a complementary wine or liquor for each dish. The price is extremely reasonable for such a combo. In other major metropolitan areas, the prices would be much higher.
