by sev52 We came to Buffalo for the wings and the 4am last call. The wings were pretty good. Nothing amazing, but it's something to do. Go to the first place in the US to officially serve chicken wings and try their alleged original recipe. It's not even a 5 minute drive from the border.

by jokesbyjen Very pub-like local brewery. They have tons of different home brews, as well as eclectic other brews. Their food is SUPER cheap and you get pretty good portions! Free peanuts, too! (and you get to throw the shells on the ground!) Rare find in a hoity-toity area like amherst/williamsville. The Dockside Inn on the Erie Canal by Tom_Fields This is a small, modest restaurant on the Erie Canal. It's just a regular place. Nothing real fancy here, just good food at a good price.

Johnny Rockets by CdnJane I believe there are other locations for Johnny Rocket's but, the one I was at was in Walden Galleria. It looked like a fun place, and the price wasn't too bad. Well, must say that it indeed was a fun place to go. Formica tables, juke boxes on each table - although the music selected is played on the overhead loud speaker, and the waitress provides you with 4 nickles for the jukebox. The service was great, the music fun - mostly 1950s/60s stuff. Every-so-often the waitress staff would come out on the floor to entertain with one song. My next restaurant tip shows them performing.
I had the Patty Melt - Grilled onions, American and Tillamook? Cheddar cheeses on grilled rye bread. It took a little getting used to with the rye bread, but it was delicious. I think my friend, MissAntarctica, had the Route 66 - Fresh grilled mushrooms and onions, Swiss cheese & mayonnaise. She said it was yummy. They were very quick to bring refills for our drinks. Stephanie had Mr Pibb, which she said tasted like Dr. Pepper, and I had Iced Tea. Love the fact that it wasn't the pre-sweetened stuff, but real brewed tea. My only gripe was that there were nothing served with it - no fries, pickles, salad.... and no fork offered. But at the same time, the servings were huge, and we didn't really need the extras. Louie's Texas Red Hots by nizroc Classic Buffalo style hot dogs that are somehow credited as being from Texas. A standard fried hot dog toppped with onions, mustard, and a special chili sauce. They also do all kinds of other normal foods such as burgers, chili fries, and eggs. Good shakes are served here as well. It's a little expensive, but worth it to splurge on once in a while.

HOT! by Carrie Ann Seal by truesunn I am a big fan of anything spicy, be it mexican, thai, etc. Of course we have all probably had Taco Bell, but Mighty Taco raises the bar quite it bit above it. Much more flavor in the seasoned meat, better sauces, and MUCH more generous portions! If you have a sensitivity to spicy foods, you might want to sit this one out, as it can cause... "intestinal upset".
I had the regular soft taco with medium sauce. Much more flavorful than Taco Bell, and the shell was full with lettuce, meat and cheese to the point it was falling out the end with each bite! I wish we had one here! Menu available on their site. Leave a Comment

Italian Flag by truesunn Nick's is owned by my Buffalo travelling companion's brother. He had also worked there at one time. Of course I am a bit partial, but it is some of the best pizza I have ever had! They also have salads, buffalo wings and BBQ Fries (see below!). There is a small cafe area in the front of the shop where you can eat or you can carry out!
I love the BBQ Fries! Fresh out of the fryer, the fries are marinated in BBQ sauce and served with blue cheese dressing and celery sticks! MMMM good! This is the only place I personally have ever seen these made. I have tried to reproduce them to no avail :( Leave a Comment Theme: ItalianPrice: less than US$10 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: 3924 Harlem Rd, Amherst NYPhone: 716-839-3939

anemone by kazander This restaurant in Buffalo serves Thai and Vietnamese cuisine. It was delicious. When we went it was not at all crowded and the service was great. Check out the little fish tank in the back of the room it's filled with swaying sea anemones and one little fish.
Mango Curry....mmmm, just writing about it makes me hungry! I ordered green tea and they brought me my own little pot and a tea bowl. The rice came separately from the curry so you could dish out your own portion. Leave a Comment
