This restaurant in Buffalo serves Thai and Vietnamese cuisine. It was delicious. When we went it was not at all crowded and the service was great.
Check out the little fish tank in the back of the room it's filled with swaying sea anemones and one little fish.
Favorite Dish: Mango Curry....mmmm, just writing about it makes me hungry! I ordered green tea and they brought me my own little pot and a tea bowl. The rice came separately from the curry so you could dish out your own portion.

Classic Buffalo style hot dogs that are somehow credited as being from Texas. A standard fried hot dog toppped with onions, mustard, and a special chili sauce. They also do all kinds of other normal foods such as burgers, chili fries, and eggs. Good shakes are served here as well. It's a little expensive, but worth it to splurge on once in a while.

I believe there are other locations for Johnny Rocket's but, the one I was at was in Walden Galleria. It looked like a fun place, and the price wasn't too bad. Well, must say that it indeed was a fun place to go. Formica tables, juke boxes on each table - although the music selected is played on the overhead loud speaker, and the waitress provides you with 4 nickles for the jukebox. The service was great, the music fun - mostly 1950s/60s stuff. Every-so-often the waitress staff would come out on the floor to entertain with one song. My next restaurant tip shows them performing.
Favorite Dish: I had the Patty Melt - Grilled onions, American and Tillamook? Cheddar cheeses on grilled rye bread. It took a little getting used to with the rye bread, but it was delicious.
I think my friend, MissAntarctica, had the Route 66 - Fresh grilled mushrooms and onions, Swiss cheese & mayonnaise. She said it was yummy.
They were very quick to bring refills for our drinks. Stephanie had Mr Pibb, which she said tasted like Dr. Pepper, and I had Iced Tea. Love the fact that it wasn't the pre-sweetened stuff, but real brewed tea.
My only gripe was that there were nothing served with it - no fries, pickles, salad.... and no fork offered. But at the same time, the servings were huge, and we didn't really need the extras.

If you're in Buffalo and looking for a cafe' latte and a panini in a Seattle style coffee shop with local color ... Spot Coffee's the place. You'll find interesting young (always young) employees, with interesting body art(and other decorations) and an adventurous sense of fashion, yelling out things like "Grande house on wheels for the hump back whale!!!!!" You may feel out of place if you don't have a laptop or homework but who knows the next Ezra Pound may be at the next table.

The Anchor Bar is well know for their chicken wings as they claim to be the home of the chicken wing....and the way they make them, they can make that claim! They are great!
The Anchor Bar is a small restaurant/bar which has live jazz music some nights, and offers some great food as well as their chicken wings.
It's a good place to have a meal while in town! And if you see a big guy behing the turntables when you are there then make sure to yell out "Hey Big Dog! Florian says Hi!"
Favorite Dish: Chicken Wings and beer!

In the sixties, the Buffalo Wing craze was started at this unique small restaurant. There is a huge collection of memorabilia
scattered throughout this surprisingly small place. Yes, the wings are very good. It appears that the blend of people is about 50 percent locals and 50 percent tourists. (Although I'm not sure WHICH class I would put the strange guy we saw shaking morracas for tip money next to the jukebox that night.)

I don’t even know if Buffalo has a Taco Bell. I mean, I’m sure there’s probably one around somewhere, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen it. Who needs Taco Bell when you have (drum roll, please) Mighty Taco? Mighty Taco is Buffalo’s own fast-food Mexican chain, and the joints are scattered all over Western New York. The food is great and really cheap – a Mighty Taco costs $.99 for the meat, lettuce, tomato and cheese. So good. The Super Mighty Burritos are great too. I once saw a guy try to eat a Super Mighty Pack (four Super Mighty Burritos) in under five minutes to win a bet. That’s a lot of beef. He was dancing and about ready to die. I was hoping he was going to puke or explode. He didn’t. Still, it was great. You do have to pay extra for sour cream and the other extras, but you do get the tomato and lettuce, so it’s good. And the food really is so kick ass. Side note: the weirdest compliment I ever received came from an out-of-town boyfriend eating at Mighty Taco for the first time. “This taco tastes like you.” Yeah. I’m still a bit baffled by that one.
Favorite Dish: The Super Mighty Burrito or a hard-shelled Mighty Taco. Cause they make my belly happy!

This was my favorite place to eat as a kid. They have a pirate ship in back, a whale on the roof, a hand-drawn menu tacked to the walls around the counter, and its vegitarian hot dog is a carrot. The place is really great, and the honey-butter for the sweet potato fries just rocks. It's right on the water in Tonawanda, next to Mississippi Mudd's, and I'm pretty sure it's a seasonal place. In the summer, Niawanda Park (the thin land between the street and the river) is a picnic-y, boating spot with paved walking/biking trails(great to watch the July 4th fireworks from and the boatraces, when they have them) right across from it.
Favorite Dish: The sweet potato fries are amazing. Get some loganberry to drink, while you're at it. It's a really sweet pop without the carbonation. You'll see it all over Buffalo -- it's one of those local things.

Ted's Hot Dogs are an institution in Buffalo. The service is quick -- you walk in, get in line and follow your dogs across the grill, into the bun and on to your tray -- and the hot dogs are awsome. They do have burgers and sandwiches and fries etc. as well, but really, the reason to come here is for the hot dogs -- normal, footlong or jumbo, and they are really worth it.
Favorite Dish: The hot dogs. Ted's uses Sahlen's hot dogs, and they are a staple in any freezer in Buffalo. If you've taken a road trip to Buffalo, buy yourself a cooler and pop in to any supermarket and grab some to take back with you.

The Original Home of the Chicken Wing- They really do have the best wings in the city (and the best service- my best friend works there!) ....
Go there on a Friday or Saturday night after 8pm - Jazz great Do Do Green and band performs (she looks about 70, but we think she's in her 90s!) . They're great- this place is the real thing - and really reflects the city - Great food, Great music, friendly people and a laid back vibe (i mean, you're ripping apart wings, drinking alcohol while listening to some of the finest jazz tunes around)
Favorite Dish: Chicken Wings, of course (tip. order them extra crispy, medium sauce)
