Besides the food, I encourage travelers to go to Niagara Falls, a Bills or Sabres game or the outlet mall for some great shopping. Also check out the city and the suburbs. Amherst, NY has the highest quality of life out of any American suburb. The Albright Knox Art Museum and Historical Society are good day trips. If you like the outdoors, and the weather is cooperating, check out Delaware Park. Leave a Comment

Don't miss Niagara Falls, Albright-Knox Art Gallery,Elmwood Avenue. The Falls are unbelievable. The Art gallery has a great collection and Elmwood Ave. has interesting shops and is a great place to people watch. Leave a Comment Other Contact: http://www.niagarafallsstatepark

I definitely liked the Albright-Knox Gallery. It has a surprisingly good selection. Afterward feed the ducks in Delaware Park. In the evening, hang out in downtown Buffalo with either a play, movie or a restaurant. For the late nite people, bars or clubs around Chippewa Street around the downtown area. Leave a Comment

I lived in the area 15 years. Well, you can just cross the border at Niagara Falls. It is not only the FALLS, it is a big town. You have to get yourselves from Buffalo airport to Niagarafalls US side first. That I am not sure of, but I am sure there is shuttle. Then if a small luggage just walk the bridge to the Canadian side. (Keep in mind you have your proper visa) It is right accross the river...both sides are towns . One side is the US Town the other is Canadian. Canadian side is much much bigger and nicer and funner by the way.Must stay 1 night Canada at least. Or you can just take a cab from Niagara Falls US into Niagara Falls Canada. Then in the Niagara Falls Canada rent a car. However, book your car well in advance and make sure you show up on time. It is very very busy that time of the year. And the car companies will say "XXX type of car and or similar" if you are not on time it will go to someone else and you may end up with a car that you don't like. St.Catharines is much closer but no point to go that far. Just look for a car rental location at NIAGARA FALLS CANADA. You DEFINETLY don't need to TORONTO to rent a car! Unless you really want to. If you have time take your car in Niagara Falls. (Pick it up after your stay in Niagara falls, everything is walking distance and very hard to find parking)then drive yourselves to NIAGARA on the LAKE (another town) and make sure you go through the NIAGARA PARKWAY by the river. You can stay in Toronto for a night. It is a big big city. But unless you have special desire to see a big Canadian city you can skip it and drive to 1000 islands area. Make sure you do stop by the 1000 islands do the boat tour and stay 1 night. Then keep on driving to Montreal. Have fun!!! Itir Leave a Comment Address: NIAGARA FALLS

Summertime in Buffalo is a time for everyone to get out and enjoy the great weather and sunshine. With a very diverse ethnic make-up, the "city of good neighbors" is always celebrating with a festival throughout the summer. There is the Allentown Arts Festival, the Italian Festival, the Greek Festival, the Taste of Buffalo, and the list goes on. If you happen to be in Buffalo during one of these festivals, stop by and share a good time. Directions: Various areas of the city at different times.

This free outdoor Shakespeare festival is the second largest of its kind in America, after New York City's. Every summer from mid June to mid August, the company performs two plays, one traditionally and one in a more modern fashion in Delaware Park. The park itself is gorgeous (designed by Frederick Law Olmstead), right across from the Albright-Knox art gallery, and behind the rose garden is Shakespeare Hill. The performances are wonderful, and it's a great way to spend a summer's evening. They hold shows Tuesday through Sunday, starting at 7:30, but you do want to get there early. They have a pre-show at 6:30, and it's a good idea to get there around then (or earlier). Parking and seating can be tough -- these shows really do draw a big crowd. The best seats are right up front (10 ft. ish) in front of the stage. You might think up further is a better view, but it gets packed and there will always be someone with a chair who decides they need to sqeeze in right in front of you. Bring a blanket to sit on and a picnic dinner -- wine, grapes etc. And bring an extra blanket, even in the summer, Buffalo can get chilly. The performances are free, though the actors will walk through the audience at intermission with satchels if you would like to donate, and it is good to give if you can -- even if its only a few bucks. There is usually a pop and hot dog vendor in the back, and you can get other stuff down by the lake, but a picnic is really the way to go. This really is my favorite thing to do in Buffalo -- it's cheap, entertaining, romantic, fun and always a good show. (And if there are homeless guys in the back of the park when you're leaving, don't think they're going to take your money or anything -- they are really nice and just wanted to watch the show.) Leave a Comment Address: Delaware Park behind the Rose GardenDirections: From the Albright-Knox, cross Lincoln Parkway and walk into the park. There will be a statue of Lincoln and the Rose Garden in front of you, with a Casino and lake on the left. Walk straight until you get to the hill, and you'll see the stage.Website: http://www.shakespeareindelawarepark.org
