Mind Eraser at Six Flags Darien lake by Herkbert if you enjoy amusement parks, Six Flags Darien Lake is right up your alley. The park has great thrill rides including the highly touted Mind Eraser Roller Coaster. There are rides for kids of all ages, plus a water park for those hot summer days. Besides all the rides, you can often find concerts going on in the amphitheater. There are facilities to camp next to the park as well as reasonably priced lodging. Daily admission tickets will cost about $30 per person. There are discounts for kids under 48" tall as well as senior citizens.

The Miss Buffalo is a boat cruise along the Buffalo harbor and waterfront. Leaving from the Buffalo Harbor, it typically travels down the Niagara River and then back up through the Black Rock canal and locks. Along the way you can see some great sites in the city or just sit back, relax and enjoy the ride. It's a great way t spend a couple hours and get to see a different side of Buffalo. Address: 79 Marine Drive Buffalo, NY 14202Phone: 716.856.6696Directions: Located at the Erie Basin Marina, at the foot of Erie St. in Downtown BuffaloWebsite: http://www.missbuffalo.com/

You can't go in but you can see the former insane asylum. When you see it, you have a somewhat eerie feeling. It reminds me of some kind of horror film, or something. The building is worth seeing, though. The architecture is beautiful. It was built in 1870 Leave a Comment Address: 400 Forest Ave., Buffalo, NY

Behind the Buffalo History Museum is a small lake. Around the lake is a path, which will take you to the Japanese garden. Although it is called a garden, the Japanese garden is actually composed of three small islands in the lake, near the shore, which have trees and stones in typical Japanese-style shapes and figures. It is a nice sight, if you want to sit and relax, but you cannot walk through the garden and it is too small to tour. It is free to view the garden and sit by the lake. Many couples like to come here to spend time together overlooking the garden. If you tour the History Museum, you may want to go see the Japanese garden, however, because it is so small, I would not recommend coming only to see this garden. Directions: Behind the Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society Building (the History Museum) on Elmwood Avenue.

Buffalo's waterfront has a little bit of everything. There are beaches, boat launches, restaurants, windmills and sunsets to die for. Whatever your choice, you can find it. Our waterfront is made up of the Lake Erie Shoreline and the Niagara River. Take a drive or take a stroll, but don't miss the beauty and allure of the water.

If you enjoy different architectural styles, Buffalo is a town you need to drive through. From the art deco city hall to the Frank Lloyd Wright designed Martin House, there's something for everyone. During its heyday, the mansions along Deleware Ave were known as "Millionaire's Row". Take a ride and enjoy the views.

The Buffalo Naval Park is a tribute museum which contains three US Naval vessels - Uss The Sullivans, USS Croaker and the USS Little Rock. Visitors can walk on board the ships to see what life on these ships was like. For those of you interested in naval history, the park is well worth a visit. The stories behind these three ships is fascinating and leaves you with a sense of pride. The park is open daily from April - November and closed between December and March.
