Not only is McDonalds the leading fast food place worldwide, but also they have a great kids playground where the kids can play while you, the adult, eat. No more "Sit Down Johnny and Wait Until I'm Done". You can just let them go play in the children's room where you can see what they are doing but can remain seated and finish your meal.

see the website for all the menu info and the prices.

The restaurant is counter-service with bright colored seating area that is kept pretty clean considering the amount of customer traffic. The staff are all young people but seem to be able to get the orders correct and can count the change correctly. The food is normally pre-made and re-heated so service time is a minimum. And the cost is definitely low for a family (under $20).

Canastota rates in the "low risk" category on the crime evaluation chart. It is generally in the top ten percent of safe places to visit in New York State. The only repetitive crime is one of larceny (shoplifting and petty theft) which generally does not directly affect a tourist.
There are 11 registered sex offenders in the area (two tenths of one percent of the population) which is relatively few for the size of the population.

You should have no problems with crime in Canastota but you might as well lock car doors and put valuables in locked place out of sight, just to be on the safe side.

The International Boxing Hall of Fame was established in the 1980s to honor the greatest names in boxing. Over 190 pugilists are remembered with photos and busts and plaques in the new building. Included in the commemorations are some of the famous referees and announcers and sports casters that helped to make international boxing the popular sport it is today.

Every June, the list of inductees gets longer as a special event is held to enshrine the newest members. The proceedings cover three days and the price for attending any one day is in the hundred dollar range.

The gift shop is pricey but besides tee-shirts you can buy autographed apparel actually used by famous boxers. We get a commemorative mug as a souvenier of each of the places we visit.
