This is known as the old course. It was originally opened for exclusive member use in the 1960s and opened for public use in the late 1980s. It has a strict dress code: No denim; no cut-offs; collared shirt and dress shorts/slacks required.
Characeristic of this course is its narrow tree-lined fairways beautifully maintained. And the rolling hills that slope down to the river side. The course plays 5100 yards to 6400 yards depending on tee selection. The shorter course is more enjoyable for vacation golfers and less frustrating for us duffers. But if you are up to the challenge of varying elevation, deep rough, bunkers and sandtraps and the use of pinpoint control, then by all means take the back tees.
$35 is not too much to pay for such a nice course and you get scenery and exercise too.
The facilities have a driving range, practice putting area, pro shop and very nice restaurant/bar.
