With the many ponds in the area, fishing is a popular pastime both in summer and winter.
In summer, the East Fork Marina is open to launch and dock boats to access Cranberry Pond.
$25 gives you docking rights for the day and there are nautical fueling tanks to gas up your motor boat.
Just across the street from the marina is an unofficial launching area where small hand-held boats can be pushed into the marshes that access the pond. kayakers and canoeists often use this launch.
Along the shores of both Long Pond and Cranberry Pond, you will see many people fishing from the shore. Some of the land is owned by local residents and they post "Keep Off" signs but much of the area near the bridges have no restrictions. Parking is a bit precarious because of the narrow roads and frequent traffic but very seldom do the local police ticket anyone for parking along the road edge and fishing for a couple hours.
