This was the first plaza area in Henrietta and a favorite of some of the old timers. It has been overshadowed in recent years by the much larger and more popular Market Place Mall just down the street. But South Town Plaza is still the strip mall of choice if you want computer supplies, fabrics and cut-rate clothing. CompUSA and Computer City, Jo-Ann Fabrics, the Dollar Tree and Old Navy are still strong crowd-drawing stores in the plaza.
It will probably never be the premiere shopping area it once was but you can still get some very good deals there if you keep your eyes on the local papers which feature coupons and sales for South Town.

Rochester is not a real upscale city like Toronto or New York City and the stores in Marketplace Mall reflect the customer base.
A short directory of the stores is: Bon-Ton, Dick's, Gap, Hallmark, JCPenney, Lands End, Macy's, Sears, Victoria's Secret, Yankee Candle, Zales. There are about 70 stores and 8 eateries and 5 snack shops.
The atmosphere is open and airy with a lot of light. It is busy but seldom crowded (except on major holidays of course; then it is shoulder to shoulder). The parking lot is color coded and number/lettered to help you find your car (you just have to remember which entrance you came in).
They regularly have special events (like blood drives and Easter Bunny/Santa Claus and concerts by local artists) in the plaza sections of the mall. They provide wheelchairs and scooters (at minimal cost) for the handicapped and strollers for small children.
What to buy: It has a little of everything (Sears even has the kitchen sink)
