Sandy Bottom Park has picnic tables with grills, an enclosed pavilion for larger groups and two open pavilions; (the picnic tables are first-come but the pavilions are reservable... call the telephone number below).

Bathrooms and playground are near the parking area.
The park has two ball fields and a shuffle board court.

The park also has a skate park with 5 or 6 slopes/ramps for the kids to skate on.

The walking trails at the back of the park are good for walking but not very useful for birding because of the proximity to the ball fields and picnic areas. Birding is pretty good at the lakefront where Honeoye Outlet Creek meets the lake. Geese and loons can be seen there as well as mallards.

Along the lakefront part of the park is a strip where small boats (canoes and kayaks can be lauched).

    to get there:
Sandy Bottom Park is at the far northwest of the Honeoye Lake.

The summer concert series at the Honeoye gazebo is on again this year in July and August.
Every Friday evening (except holidays), between 7pm and 9pm, local entertainers will perform free at the town gazebo.

Parking and seating are first-come-first-served. Bring your own chair and refreshments if you want.
The performances last two hours with one 10minute intermission. The music is folk, caribean, bluegrass, ethnic (Irish, German), broadway, classical, popular, et.al. Use the phone number below to find out which bands play on which dates this year.

    to get there:
route 20A, Main Street, gazebo in town square.(right next to the town library)
if it rains, the indoor venue is at Honeoye Central School Auditorium

Honeoye Warnings and Dangers

Other than having an accident by arrow or bullet from a hunter or by blood poisoning from an infection due to getting a fish hook caught in your arm, you have little to fear in Honeoye.
Most of the community is local farmers and summer cottage people. There is not any data that I could find to indicate that there was much of crime risk in the area at all.

Use common sense and practice the safety activities you use at home and your vacation in Honeoye will be happy and safe.

We have walked around the lake front at all times of day and night in the summer and have never had any problems. Once in a while there is a loud party that may go into the wee hours of the morning but that is only an irritation.
